Hazaribagh is a town located in the hills of Jharkhand, India. The name ‘Hazaribagh’ means thousand towns. The natural beauty of this place makes one of the most attraction centers in Jharkhand. 2. Rajgir

The meaning of Rajgir is “House of the King” . Rajgir is known as the land of Buddha and Mahavir who have left many stories at every corner of this place. This is one of the main attractions in Bihar. Because of its historical value, this place is being visited by lots and lots of tourists day by day from every part of the world. This is the place where Lord Mahavir has spent 14 years of his life. Lord Buddha spent many years here and delivered sermons, which led the King Bhimbsara for the conversion. It was also the venue for the first Buddhist Council. This place is an important pilgrimage centre for the Hindus and Jains. Rajgir was also known earlier as “Rajagriha” or Girivaraja. Itis located in the rocky hills, which is the spot of the teachings of both Buddha and Mahavira.

3. GRIDDHAKUTA

This was the main place of Lord Buddha where he was set in motion his second wheel of law and for three months every year during the rainy season. It preached many inspiring sermons to his disciples. At the top of the hill, there is a massive modern stupa named as the Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda) constructed by the Buddha Sangha of Japan. It can be easily being reached by an Ariel Rope way. This uphill trip provided spectacular views over the hills of Rajgir. A bridle path leads up to the hill, but it is much more fun to take the Aerial Chairlift which operates every day except Thursday. One way ride takes 7.5 minutes and the view is splendid over the hills of Rajgir.

4. Saptparani Cave

This cave is located in one of the hills of Rajgir. The cave of Saptparni is where the First Buddhist Council was held under the leadership of Maha Kassapa. In addition, Buddha sometimes stayed there, and it was used as an accommodation for visiting monks. This is the place where one can across many Hot water springs. These springs are believed to have many curative properties and are sacred to the Hindus. There are seven springs originating from the Saptparani Caves, the hottest of their being the ‘BRAKMAKUND’ with a temperature of 450C.

5. Nalandha

It was frequently visited by Lord Vardhamana Mahavir and Lord Buddha in the 6th century BC. During his sajourns, the Lord Buddha found this place prosperous, swelling, teeming with population and containing mango-groves. It is also supposed to be the birth place of Sariputra, one of the Chief disciples of the Lord Buddha. 6. Ranchi

Ranchi is one of the best places in Bihar, and it boasts of picturesque surroundings, the beauty which is reflected in its beautiful waterfalls, tranquil lakes, barren rocks and hillocks. Ranchi is the former summer capital of Bihar, situated in the heart of the Chotanagpur Plateau. It is surrounded by verdant hills, Ranchi was originally a tribal country. Some of its villages are still rich in tribal life. However, with the passage of time, it has developed into a large hill resort with a beautiful countryside. The Bihar Tribal research institute and Museum situated here are an ideal place for those interested in knowing more about the tribes of Bihar. 7. Netrahat

Netrahat is popularly known as the “Queen of Chotanagpur”. This is an amazingly beautiful tourist destination of Ranchi. Dense forests and cool breeze and the awesome waterfalls make this place more beautiful. The best time for the visit is in summer and by this time this place becomes one of the hot spot for the tourists. The spectacular view of the sunrise is one of the main features of this place. 7. Lodh Waterfalls

This place is the beauty spot in Bihar. It is famous for its waterfalls and have an highest waterfalls in Bihar. Here the water is cascaded from a height of 468ft. This place is also known as Buddha Ghagh Falls which is located on the Budha River is deep in the forest of the Chota Nagpur Plateau in Jharkhand, a state in east India. The falls, named after Gautam Buddha, also has a Buddha temple there.

This place is 40 kms from Ranchi and is well connected to roads and rails.
8. Betla National park

This park is a great attraction to tourists. The park, at an average elevation of 100ft is open throughout the year, although February, March and April are the best months to visit. Large herds of Gaur and Chital are commonly seen. Elephants are seen mostly after the monsoons up to the time when water holes begin to dry up in March. Tiger, Panther, Sloth Bear, Wild Bear, Sambhar, Nilgai, Kakar, Mouse Deer, Peacock are also spotted. Large families of langurs are an ever-present attraction. It has waterfalls and hot springs too. Once the seat of Chero Kings, it also has some historical monuments and a fort Betla Fort of 16th century inside the forest. There are two rivers, Koel and Burha, which eventually empty into the famous Sone River. There are five Watch Towers from where animals can be easily observed and photographs taken.

9. Kakolat (Nawada)

Nawada which is also known as kakolat is the waterfall in Gobindpur Police station. A deep reservoir is found under the water fall here. The fall is about 150 to 160 feet, from the ground level. The scenery over here gives a relaxation to our mind and the views are awesome and stress compressor instant. The green round forest area is also a pleasant for our eyes. According to the myth, a king named Teta Yuga was cursed by a Rishi and had to take the shape of a python and lived here. After releaving from the curse the it has been proclaimed that anyone who would bathe in the waterfall will not take the yoni of the snake and lots of believers have been following that especially held on the occasion of bishua or Chait Shankranti

This place is about 21 miles away from Nawada. After going 9¼ miles from Nawada on Ranchi Road, a pucca road known as Gobindpur—Akbarpore Road diverts from there.
10. Jagannath Temple

This is the pilgrim centre to many devotees . Lots and lots of tourists and devotees have been visiting here day by day. This temple was built in the 17th century. The main Jagannath temple is been built in Orissa and this is only a miniature version of that. This is mainly known for the celebrations of the car festivals in the months of June to July. This place is been visited by many devotees to offer their prayers and is strongly believed that their wish will be granted.

This temple is associated in the Jaganathpur village, 10kms south west of Ranchi.
