The future of Kerala is in their hands and completely depends on their rule. However, being a democratic country, there are many formalities to pass a rule. All the leaders had their own skill no matter which party they belong. The Kerala Government is chosen by regular polls held in the state. The citizens of Kerala decide for whom they like and his ideas and are sure that he/she can do anything. There are many top leaders from Kerala who had ruled prosperously. Some among the best are mentioned below.

1. E.M.S

E.M.S was the most versatile genius that has ruled Kerala. He was the first chief minister of Kerala. He was born on 14th June 1909 in Elamkulam Mana near Perinthalmanna. In his childhood also he was attracted to political interest and made a clear view in politics. When he was a student he participated in the Namboodiri social reform movement. He has ruled Kerala for 2 times during 1957-59 and during 1967-69, he was the chief minister of Kerala. In 1959 his government was dismissed by the Central Government following the liberation struggle against it. He was the mostly renowned as a socialist and a Marxist theorist. He was the main struggler for the rule and the opposition for the backward caste and conservatism that existed in the Namboothiri community. During his college days, he was deeply associated with the Indian National Congress and Indian Independence Movement. He was considered to be one of the founders of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Kerala, for which he had to go in hiding for some time. He is the only leader that was defeated only once in his election days. He was a famous journalist also. He has stood citizens of Kerala in a point in his visions and influenced a lot decentralization of power and resources (People’s Plan) and the Kerala Literacy Movement. He authored several books in English & Malayalam. EMS died on March 19, 1998. He was married to Smt. Arya Antarjanam and had two sons and two daughters.

2. V.S Achuthanathan

The most stubborn and fearless chief minister that Kerala has seen. He is a communist leader and fought very hard for the poor laborer’s. He is the 20th chief minister from Kerala and now also he is completing 3 years of success. At the age of 82 he is very active and strong to his decisions. He is very much keen to the low caste citizens and hears their problem and tries his best for its solution. He need to stop his academic career at 7th standard and deeply indulged in the world of politics. He became on of the main protest against the rule of Congress and became an active member of Communist Party of India (CPI). He is popularly known as “Commrade VS” . He also makes a quick welfare and money for the flood loss,accidents and others. He is very much against the people who cheats government in taxes and land deals. For that he checked out all the lease land that was in Munnar which was not checked for years. Going through all the papers he came to know that many land was Illegal and he took necessary action for that by clearing all the resorts and hotels. Massive portions of land allegedly grabbed over the years by resort owners and multinational companies like Tata Tea Limited, Kannan Devan etc. Acuthanathan is the man behind the ‘Smart City’ an IT park in Cochin, Kerala. Smart city was a dream of all the Kerala citizen and mainly it will offer many work for the unemployed people.

3. E.K Nayanar

Another communist leader who was the chief minister of Kerala. He was one of the beloved leader of Kerala. His witty replies was one of his feature . He face problems very easily and handles it very smoothly. He became chief minister three times ie 1980-81, 1897-91 and 1996-2001. He is the first to hold the post of serving in the post for the longest period of time ie 11years. He is the longest serving chief minister of Kerala. He has spent a total of 11 years in jail for various political reasons and spent his most valuable time over there. He has showed his ability as a journalist and has edited the newspaper ‘Deshabhimaani’ daily for long time. He was the secretary of the Kerala state committee of the CPI(M) from 1972 to 1980 and again from 1992 to 1996. He was very well and managed it very accurately in all these positions. He was the man behind for building up the party and expanding its strength by more members. The big era of politics came to an end at the age of 85 following a cardiac arrest.

4. K. Karunakaran

One of the most senior political leader of the Congress party. Though has transformed from one party to another ,right now he is again into his old party,congress. He was the most powerful Chief Minister of Kerala. He became home minister also . He is always optimistic to all the facts. He is very courageous and lots of spirit is visible in him at that age. He is a positive thinker and a quick right decision maker. His speech is awesome and attracts many people. He is one of the main crowd puller of the congress party. He is at the age of 90 and actively present in his party and his activities. His children Muraleedharan and Padmaja is very popular in politics.

5. A.K Antony

One of the cleanest man in the political world. A.K Antony was one of the mostly calm and silent Chief Minister that Kerala had. He was one of the political leader that was loved by all the parties. He was the 18th chief minister of Kerala. He was one of the rarest and most loved leader by all the group of people. He was the man behind for the banning of spirit in Kerala. He will mark a place in the history of political leaders for his handling of work. He will be remembered for having worked his way to such tremendous success. He is well known for his patience and humility. He is one of the most powerful malayalee from Kerala. He has raised the power of Malayalee and India all over the world. Right now he is the Defence minister of India. By that he became the guardian angel of the largest democratic country in the world. He is the man behind the welfare for all the soldiers that was dead during war and many offerings were given to their widows.
