Mongolia acquired 31st place for this Summer Olympics 2008. Though it had only four Olympic medals, Mongolia managed to be  in a safe rank than other major countries. Before this summer Olympics 2008, Mongolia had collected 15 Olympic medals but none of them was Gold. They had to wait till 2008 to achieve their long time goal and that was a Gold Medal. All of the medals have come in boxing, judo, freestyle wrestling and shooting. There are four medals that Mongolia had achieved for this summer Olympics 2008. Lets check out the medalist from Mongolia.

1. Tuvshinbayar Naidan

Naidan was the first men to fulfill the dreams of all Mongolian. He is the medal hope for Mongolia. He received gold medal for Judo which is the first medal for Mongolia in the entire history. Naidan became an icon of Mongolia from that moment onwards. He received honor and cash prizes for raising the glory of his country Mongolia. He defeated Kazakhstan’s Askhat Zhitkeyev in the men’s 100 kg class. For last summer Olympics 2004 he won Bronze medal for his category. He had a lots of fans following him after his victory in Summer Olympics.

2. Enkhbatyn Badar-Uugan

Enkhbatyn is one of the amateur boxer from Mongolia. He is top ranked for this Summer Olympics 2008 for his category of weight 54kg for Bantam weight.  He won gold medal and that was the second Olympic gold for Mongolia in its history. That will be his first Olympic gold to be filled in his Olympic career. His start was appreciable with a gold medal for his event. It was his long time wish to add up a gold medal in his career. That dream was fulfilled with his fist Olympics. He received Bronze in Doha 2006 which was the first one in his career. He also won a silver medal at Chicago 2007 .

3. Otryadyn Gündegmaa

Otryadyn is the only female award hope for Mongolia. She full filed all their dreams in this summer Olympics. She won a silver medal for this Olympics 2008 for her event 25m pistol. That was her first medal in her career and being an Olympic medal will make her more confident in her future. Her native place is in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She is the most senior athlete from Mongolia participating in 1996,2000 and 2004 Olympics. Before Summer Olympics 2008 her career best was being fifth rank in the  1996 Olympics for her event 25m pistol.  But her career most achievement began successful with this Olympics 2008. The Regulatory Council of Mongolian Public Awards has elected her to award her the title “Peoples Hero”. She became an youth icon for all the upcoming talents of Mongolia.

4. Serdamba Purevdorj

Serdamba is an amateur boxer from Mongolia. He also raised a silver medal for this summer Olympics 2008 thereby raising pride of his country Mongolia. He raised to all hopes of all the Mongolians. His hard work and effort payed for him for this summer Olympic. It was a first medal in his career for his event Junior Flyweight category. He was expected to receive gold for this Olympics. But unluckily he was caught by a shoulder injury and he was defeated by Chinese  boxer Zou Shimming. He is slowly recovering from it and announced that he will turn that silver into gold for the next Olympics 2012 at London.

Thailand is in 31st position in medal listings of Beijing Olympics. They won 2 gold and 2 silver with total of 4 medals in this Olympics. 51 competitors are participated in this Olympics. Thailands first Olympic appearance was in 1952 and they got first Olympic medal in 1976 with bronze medal. Their first gold medal is in 1996 Atlanta Olympics.Thailand’s total 21 medals were delivered by boxing, weightlifting and taekwondo. Thailand’s most successful Games was in Athens where they won 8 medals including three gold medals. In this Olympics their athelets are made glorious achievements. Their boxer Somjit Jongjohor and weightlifter Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon won gold medals in this Olympics. Their 18 year old Taekwondo fighter Buttree Puedpong won silver medal in Beijing. 1. Somjit Jongjohor

By winning the gold medal in Flyweight boxing, Somjit Jongjohor proves that he is the best boxer of Beijing Olympics. He defeated Cuba’s Andris Laffita Hernandez in this event. He won this gold medal on his sons seventh birthday. 34 years oldest Somjit is the oldest boxer of Beijing Olympics. He won gold medals in Busan Asian games and Bangkok World Amateur Championship. He also won silver medal in Doha Asian games and in Chicago World Amateur Championship.

2. Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon

Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon was always remembered by the Thailand people, because she won first gold medal for her country in 53 kg Weightlifting in Beijing Olympics. She broke previous Olympic record. She defeated South Korean Yoon Jin-Hee and Nastassia Novikava of Belarus. According to a fortune teller, she changed her name Chanpim Kantatian into Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon before the Olympics. So she says that she is attributed her victory to changing her name before the Games. She is also silver winner of Doha world championship. She was born in a poor family. But she will become a millionaire after winning this gold medal for her country.

3. Buttree Puedpong

Thai Taekwondo fighter Buttree Puedpong won silver medal in 49kg taekwondo in Beijing Olympics. She was defeated by Jingyu Wu of China in the final. This 18 year old girl made country proud by winning the silver medal in this Olympics. She is a former world junior champion and also the SEA Games gold medalist. By winning this medal, she has been guaranteed of Bt 7.8 million cash incentives from both the private and public sectors.

4. Manus Boonjumnong

Thai boxer Manus Boonjumnong won silver medal in Light Welterweight boxing in Beijing Olympics. He was defeated by Felix Diaz of Dominican Republic in the final. Achievements are glorious in his carrier. He is the gold winner of Athens Olympics in the same event. He won the gold medal in Doha Asian games. Also he won bronze medal in Bangkok world amateur championships.
