Mexico delivered one of the best performance for this Summer Olympics 2008. They were ranked 36 for this Olympics. They achieved two individual gold medals which is their  Olympic career best in this Olympics. Mexico had set their monopoly in Taekwondo for this summer Olympics. They received two individual golds for men and women in their weight categories. Mexico got 2 gold medals and one Bronze medal which boosted their rank. Now lets check out that three medalist from Mexico.

1. Guillermo Perez

Perez is one of the Taekwondo expert who hails from Mexico. He is one of the gold achievers for Mexico. His category was taekwondo in the weight category 57kg. He was a great inspirer of action super star Bruce Lee and watches his movies. He started Taekwondo at his earlier age of five. He was very much dedicated to his sport and worked very hard from his earlier career. The final match in Olympics was one of the most thrilling moments for all the viewers. Extra time was  granted to choose the winner.  Perez won by the  judges decision.

2. Maria del Rosario Espinoza

Maria is the only medal hope for Mexico. She fulfilled that dream and set a monopoly in Taekwondo. She achieved an individual gold medal for Womens 67Kg category. She received honors from her country and from all Taekwondo fans. Her career medals is glowing by her gold medals. She has been top ranked for her events. She had received three golds including Olympic Gold.  She  was 2007 world champion in taekwondo and received gold medal for that.  She has also won gold medal in Pan American games in 2007. Her win in each of these games is the result of her dedication and practice.

3. Paola Espinosa, Tatiana Ortiz

These duo have the honor of winning the first Olympic medal for Mexico. They received Bronze for Mexico for their event Womens Synchronized 10m Platform.  For every Olympics  this event will be the mostly watched and interesting  event. Paola and Tatiana has given a great satisfaction for them apart winning Bronze. Paola is from a diving family and her parents run an institution for the upcoming talents in Diving. She was very lucky to be a part of that and grasping all the tutorials from her parents itself. Tatiana also started diving at her earlier age. She is the one who represented Mexico. These duos have been represented as the beautiful mermaids of Mexico and are responsible for raising pride and honour of their country. Mexico are proud of this beautiful mermaids.

Zimbabwe is in 38th position in medal listings of Beijing Olympics. They won 1 gold and 3 silver with total of 4 medals in this Olympics. Their thirteen athletes participated in swimming, athletics, tennis, cycling, triathlon, and rowing in Beijing Olympics. However, their golden girl Kirsty Coventry won all Zimbabwe’s medals in swimming in Beijing Olympics. She grabs four medals from swimming including gold medal in 200 m backstroke, silver medals in 100 m backstroke, 200 m individual medley, 400 m individual medley swimming in Beijing. 1. Kirsty Coventry

Kirsty Coventry is a really golden girl of Zimbabwe. She won all Zimbabwe’s medals in Beijing Olympics. She really ruled in a swimming pool of Beijing. She grabs four medals from swimming including gold medal in 200 m backstroke, silver medals in 100 m backstroke, 200 m individual medley, 400 m individual medley swimming in Beijing Olympics. She set new world record in 200 m backstroke. Her achievements are undefinable in swimming. In 2000, she became the first Zimbabwean swimmer to reach the semifinals at the Olympics and was named Zimbabwe’s sports woman of the year. In Athens Olympics, she won gold medal in 200 m backstroke and won bronze medal in 200 m individual medley. At the 2005 World Championships in Montreal, she won 2 gold medals in 100 m and 200m backstroke. In 2007 Algiers All-Africa Games, she won 7 gold medals in various events. In 2008 Manchester world championship short course, she won 4 gold medals and 1 bronze medal in various events. Kirsty Coventry is really a shining light in a troubled Zimbabwe. Her homeland is suffered unemployment, poverty and civil unrest. So her victory really a light of that people of her country. Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe gives $100,000 dollar reward to Kirsty for her performance in Beijing.
