Vietnam has acquired 2 silver medals so far in Olympic History. They participated in 1952 and it took 48 years for their long time dream to mesmerize. They have been one of the countries, which has not participated in the winter games yet. Nguyen Dinh Cuong was the flag bearer for Vietnam this Summer Olympics 2008. For this Olympics, they had 13 competitors including 7 men and 6 women. This Olympic turned out to be a victory for Vietnam after 8 years, and it was the second medal in Vietnams Olympic Career. 1. Hoang Anh Tuan

Hoang Anh Tuan is one of the best Weightlifters from Vietnam. He is the silver medalist for his category 56kg. He made an instant victory in the Vietnamese history in Olympics. He worked hard a lot and went through ten years of weightlifting and a hard three-month training course in Bulgaria before Summer Olympics at Beijing. He started his career with wrestling and was very much interested in that. Later he changed his career to weightlifting in a short span of time in the year 1988. Tuan is one of a few Vietnamese sportsmen to reach the world level. His career was not sparky in his starting time. He failed to qualify for the national weightlifting team. His 3-month training changed his status a lot, and he became more and more serious in the field. He admitted that the training helped him a lot for this achievement.

Sudan an African country can boast off for this Summer Olympics 2008. They got the first medal in their entire Olympics career. It was a silver medal that they acquired. However, that will be valued as a diamond by all Sudanic’s. They participated in Olympics at the year 1960 and haven’t received any medal yet.  They have been dreaming of a medal for a long time. Abubaker Khaki was the flag bearer for Sudan this Olympics 2008. For this time, they had 9 athletes in 2 sports and the medalist gave a hope for all. Let’s check out the medalist from Sudan.

1. Ismail Ahmed Ismail

Ismail is the man who raised all the pride and honor of his country Sudan to a new level. He won a silver medal for his event men’s 800m and uplifted the status of his country by the first medal in its record.  A long time wish of all Sudan peoples was fulfilled by Ismail through his silver medal. He started his career as a 3000m runner and changed to 1500m and finally he stopped with 800m and concentrated in that field. He was trained under Khalifa a world championship winner and make him realize that his track was 800m and made him to concentrate in that. He won his fist medal at the Arab Championship that year at the age of 19. For this Summer Olympics, he finished 800m in his best by the time of 1:44.47. By his victory, it has been an emerging spirit for all the upcoming talents from Sudan. He is a member of the Fur people of Darfur. Ismail and the Abubabaker Kaki was trained along, and he was considered as medal hope for Sudan. However, Ismail fulfilled that dream by his Silver medal.
