Vietnam has acquired 2 silver medals so far in Olympic History. They participated in 1952 and it took 48 years for their long time dream to mesmerize. They have been one of the countries, which has not participated in the winter games yet. Nguyen Dinh Cuong was the flag bearer for Vietnam this Summer Olympics 2008. For this Olympics, they had 13 competitors including 7 men and 6 women. This Olympic turned out to be a victory for Vietnam after 8 years, and it was the second medal in Vietnams Olympic Career. 1. Hoang Anh Tuan
Hoang Anh Tuan is one of the best Weightlifters from Vietnam. He is the silver medalist for his category 56kg. He made an instant victory in the Vietnamese history in Olympics. He worked hard a lot and went through ten years of weightlifting and a hard three-month training course in Bulgaria before Summer Olympics at Beijing. He started his career with wrestling and was very much interested in that. Later he changed his career to weightlifting in a short span of time in the year 1988. Tuan is one of a few Vietnamese sportsmen to reach the world level. His career was not sparky in his starting time. He failed to qualify for the national weightlifting team. His 3-month training changed his status a lot, and he became more and more serious in the field. He admitted that the training helped him a lot for this achievement.
