In Olympic Summer Games 2008 start in Beijing and Armenia will be presented in the games by 25 sportsmen competing in seven different sports. 1. JAVAKHYAN HRACHIK

He takes the silver medal in lightweight boxing at Beijing Olympics. He is the first Armenian boxer to win an Olympic medal for Armenia. Russia’s Alexey Tishchenko takes the gold medal in this competition. Javakhyan lost the semifinal 5:10 to Aleksei Tishchenko and won Bronze. 2. DAVTYAN GEVORG

Davtyan Gevorg of Armenia takes the bronze medal in the men’s 77 kg category weightlifting competition, and he lifted a 165kg in the snatch. Sa Jae-hyouk of South Korea won gold and the Chinese weightlifter received the Silver. Devtyan is recognized the best sportsman of Armenia in 2007. 24-year-old sportsman became the champion of the Europe and vice champion of the world. He also won the silver medal in the 77 kg category at the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships.
3. AMOYAN ROMAN

Armenia’s Amoyan takes the bronze medal in the Men’s Greco-Roman 55kg competition. He defeated with Cuba’s Yagniel Hernandez Silven. Amoyan took a 3-0 lead going into the second period, where he could to tie up the Cuban wrestler and at one point had positioned his opponent for a pin-down victory. Amoyan would win the second round 5-0. Amoyan becomes the first wrestler to win a medal since Armen Nazaryan would win the Gold in the 1996 Olympic Games.
4. PATRIKEEV YURI

He received the fourth medal in the Beijing Olympics. He won the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling. In the Bronze Medal match Patrikeev took the first period by pushing the Swede off the mat in the first minute. An even 1:1 tie after the second period would force a third and deciding period, when Patrikeev would take control and spin his opponent around for two points. In the last thirty seconds, Patrikeev would defend very well to earn to Bronze medal.Partrikeev did very well this match and easily have to the bronze. The silver his best career achievements.
5. MARTIROSYAN TIGRAN VARBAN

He takes the bronze medal of the men’s 85 kg of the weightlifting with a total of 380kg. Beating Vladimir Sedov from Kazakhstan. Chinese’s weightlifter Lu Yong takes the gold medal and Andrei Rybakou of Belarus won the silver. It was a very tough competition. Martirosyan successfully lifted and set the new future. Martirosyan lifted 203kg in the Clean and Jerk, tying with Sedov for 380kg in total weight. Martirosyan took the bronze medal by a 0.76kg body weight advantage. He finished right behind them with the Bronze medal making it 5 bronze medals for Armenia. Martirosyan also participated in the men’s -85 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal and European Weightlifting Championships, He takes gold Medal. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, he ranked 7th in the 85 kg category, lifting 367.5 kg in total.
6. MARTIROSYAN TIGRAN GEVORG

He earns the bronze medal in the 69 kg category at the 2008 Summer Olympics, with 338 kg in total. Martirosyan came out with a very good lift of 153kg on his first lift on the snatch which put him on top of the leaderboard, but was unable to successfully lift 156kg bars in his second and third attempts and had to settle for the 153kg score for the snatch, which left him 5kg short of the eventual Gold Medalist who successfully lifted 158kgs. In the clean and jerk Martirosyan missed his first attempt at 183kgs, and would need to lift a 185kgs to place for a medal which was also unsuccessful on his second lift. Martirosyan would gather all of his strength and hold the 185kgs over his head on his third and final try to bring home the second bronze for Armenia within the span of a couple of hours. He also won the silver medal in the 2007 European Weightlifting Championships, and he ranked sixth in 2006 World Weightlifting championships. Martirosyan won the gold medal in the 69 kg category at the 2008 European Weightlifting Championships.
