
Wen Jiabao is the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. He is also the secretary of the financial work committee of the CPC central committee. His populist approach to policy and his visible public masks has made him a very popular figure within China. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in April 1965 and start his work in this party. He is a postgraduate and an Engineer. After gaining graduation in geomechanics in Beijing, he began his career in the Gansu geology bureau. He became the chief of that bureau and Vice-minister of Geology and Mineral Resources. He is the only Director of the Party’s General Office to have served under three general secretaries. When Wen was the head assistant to General Secretary Zhao Ziyang, he made the most significant recovery as a politician. He accompanied Zhao to see demonstrating students in Tiananmen Square. During 1965, he was a strong administrator and technocrat, has earned a reputation for meticulousness, competence, and a focus on tangible results. As premier, Wen gives importance to China’s economic reforms, public health and education. He is a good communicator and is known as a “man of the people.” His popularly increased when he visited the disaster area of Sichuan Earthquake just few hours after the disaster, and he became the executive director of the earthquake relief effort’s committee immediately following the disaster. He also has a face book profile in which he gathered more popular support than any other non-American leader on the social networking site.
