Henry Paulson

Henry Paulson is one of the world’s financial geniuses. He is US treasury secretary and member of the international monetary fund board of governors. Now, he is one of the most important people in the world. His aim is to prevent more banks and other financial institutions from collapsing and try to limit the economic crisis. He was also worked as chairman and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs, independent American bank in New York. He was born in Palm Beach, Florida, to Marianna Gallauer and Henry Merritt Paulson. In childhood, he was a star athlete at Barrington High School. He received his bachelor of arts in English from Dartmouth College and master of business administration degrees from Harvard business school . Then he worked as staff assistant to the assistant secretary of defense and worked for the administration of U.S. President Richard Nixon. In 1974, he joined Goldman Sachs and helped Goldman set up its first office in China after he had become a partner of the firm. For this purpose, he had to travel China 75 times. This visits not only helped him to improve his business skills but also helped him understand Chinese’s culture. In 2006, he was appointed as treasury secretary by U.S. President George W. Bush. He helped to create the Hope Now Alliance to help struggling homeowners during the subprime mortgage crisis. He is a hard worker and he wants others to work in the weekends in times of crises as well. Not everyone is not happy with his decisions. DeLay conservatives criticize him for bailing out companies, and for failing to reduce the size of the government. However, these criticisms are ideological ones. After all Paulson is a whole needed person in US and the World.
