It was one of the major attempt that a famous British director Danny Boyle made for the idea of his blockbuster movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. This drama has changed the life of all the crew working for it. This heart meltdown drama takes another turn into the movie career of Danny Boyle. This movie is an adaptation of a novel by Indian author Vikas Swarup from his book named “Q and A”. The movie turned out to be a very slow hit. A SYNOPSIS of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Story of this film is based on life of Jamal from slums of Mumbai. He is the main character of this movie and Dev Patel made this role excellent. Actually this film contains flashbacks of Jamal’s childhood growing up on the streets of India. The handsome young man is an orphan from the slum of Mumbai. He had to face the biggest day of his life. When he is just one question away from winning 20 million rupees on India’s “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?” show, then he was arrested by the police on the suspicion of cheating. The police suspected that how this street boy with no education answer these difficult questions. To prove his innocence, Jamal share the painful story of his life in the street and where he and his brother grew up, their adventures together on the road, encounters with local gangs and the girl Latika, he loved and lost with audience and police. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to answer of game show’s questions. This is the wonderful story about love, hope, determination and the real side of life. The movie beautifully maintain the three main characters, Jamal, his brother Salim and his true lover Latika. The Bollywood Actor Anil Kapoor as the host of the game show. The acting of all characters in this film is natural. That is the good specialty of this movie. This film won many awards. This won four golden globe awards. There are the best director award for Boyle, the best music score for Rahman, best screenplay for Simon Beaufoy and also were included in the category of best drama. After all it is wonderful movie with great story and amazing stars.

Even though Slumdog Millioaire is not directed by Indian director, but it got mixed opinions from Indian viewers. Some people commented that it is just entertainment movie, but some people commented that it really brings the reality of shining India. It really portrays India’s injustice about slum people, Hindu-Muslim violence, the Bollywood craze, cricket mania, Mumbai underworld, horrible exploitation of young children, police brutality , poverty etc. Some famous people like Amithab Bachchan criticize this movie because, in this film India is presented as a ugly country and it cause pain to nationalists and patriots.
