BARACK OBAMA

Barack .Hussein. Obama is the 44th president of United States of America. He is the man of the dreams of black men. Obama shattered American racial barriers and appointed as the first black leader of America. This 47 year old American president is courageous and responsible for his work. His oath was witnessed by historic American crowd and was telecast all around the world. After a long span of 8 years President post by George W. Bush, everyone was waiting for a change. It was in his time the world faced September 9/11 attack, Afghanistan wars etc. So people hope something better from Obama. Obama’s address to the nation was overwhelming, it was like “Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America-they will be met”. Obama speak to millions of Americans that was spread across the National mall from the capitol toward the Lincoln memorial.

BIOGRAPHY

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. He has a mixed nationalist, his mother is American named Ann Durham and his Father is Kenyan named Barack Obama, Sr. He had to face the world of loneliness at the age of 2. His parents divorced at that time. Then his mother married to an Indonesian oil manager Lolo and they moved to Jakarta. He had also a half sister named Maya Soetoro-Ng. After some years he moved to Hawaii and was looked after by his grandparents. Obama was known as “Barry” in his youth, but asked to be addressed with his given name during his college years. He completed his school education in Hawaii. Later he joined in Occidental college for two years and then he acquired BA graduation from Columbia university in New York. After that he practiced law at Harvard university. At that time he was elected in the first African-American editor of the Harvard law review. He began to work after this under several institutions like Business International Corporation, New York Public Interest Research Group etc. He also worked as the member of the board of directors of Public Allies, Woods Fund of Chicago, Joyce Foundation, Chicago Annenberg Challenge etc. When completed law education he worked for a corporate law firm and it was that place where he met his love, Michelle Robinson. She is also a graduate of Harvard Law. Obama married Michelle at 1992 and they had 2 kids named Malia Ann and Natasha. Obama is a protestant christian and he is very much involved in that. He is a firm believer in his religion. Obama has a good talent in writing and he wrote many books like “Dream from my father” and the “Audacity of Hope”. He received Grammy awards for abridged audio book versions of both these books. Time magazine elected him as the “Person of the year for his historic candidacy and election” in 2008 December.

BARACK OBAMA AND POLITICS

In 1996, Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate from the south side neighborhood of Hyde park, in Chicago. As senator, he is the most liberal senator and made many achievements in this position. He sponsored a law increasing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare. He was also re-elected in 1998 and 2000 as a senator from Illinois. In 2003, He also served as chairman of the Public health and welfare committee when the Democrats regained control of the chamber. In 2004 general election, Obama was elected to the U.S.senate as a Democrat, representing Illinois. He was the fifth African-American Senator in U.S.history. In February 2007, Obama announced his candidacy for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Throughout the president election campaign, Obama emphasized the issues of rapidly ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care. On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama defeated John McCain in the general election with 365 electoral votes to McCain’s 173 and became the first African American President of the United States. In his victory speech, he proclaimed that “change has come to America”.

CHANGE WE NEED

This is the slogan that every Americans keeps in their mind. All the Americans have a great hope in Obama and his slogan “Change we need”. They expect to be a strong nation under Obama’s presidency. Obama has become a symbol of hope, change, and  unity. We can see that all over the world are celebrating his victory. Many peoples from all over the world expects that with the change of president of America, Global economic crisis might get into a hike. But the current situation of global crisis is not under the control of Obama. He is a very good positive thinker and his future plans can overcome this situation. He said he will make this country a better place for people. Everyone expects that the new president can restore the economy and people gets hope in their share and starts invest again. Each and every country is waiting for Obama’s presidency to solve their countries issues.

THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION

Today, American people are waiting for the historic day on success. On January 20th,2009 is the great day for all Americans and stand together with a new President in celebration. Barack Obama sworned as America’s 44th and first black President of the united States on this day. He take the oath in office,using former President Lincoln’s Inaugural Bible and Obama sworned by the US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Two million people from all over the country are witness of this historic occasion. The inaugural ceremony was on the West Front of the US Capitol with musical selections by the US States Marine Band, followed by the San Francisco Body Chorus and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. After his inauguration,the American people are expected to Obama is going to make a great impact on the U.S and he will balance the budget, revive the economy, solve the real estate problem, solve the auto industry problem, etc.
