The British drama movie “Slumdog Millionaire” is one of the Oscar winning movies of 2009. Simon Beafoy won an Oscar Award for the “Best Adapted Screenplay” for “Slumdog Millionaire”. He has also won the ‘Critics’ Choice and ‘Golden Globe’ Award for his amazing screenplay. Simon is a British tradition of screenwriter.This award was his career’s first Oscar and it’s a biggest achievement of his future.”The Slumdog Millionaire” movie is based on the Novel ‘Q&A’ by ‘Vikas Swarup’. Simon Beaufoy’s script concept was different from the Vikas Swarup’s novel. He had completely rewritten the original story of that novel . The new script has made the film inspiring and encourages people of all ages. Simon Beafoy’s career’s first Indian made a movie is “Slumdog Millionaire”. It has given a great experience to his life. Simon says that his traveling through the cities and slums of Mumbai city had helped a lot for his work to be a great success. Simon Beaufoy’s script was entirely in English, but Boyle’s decision to have the Indian kids speak in Hindi. Having the children speaking in their mother-tongue makes perfect sense, especially because Boyle and Beaufoy extracted the realism of the kids’ lives. All the actors, who play the lead characters at various stages of their lives, are amazing and authentic. The movie tells the story of a boy named ‘Jamal Malik’ who succeeds in a reality show , the Indian version of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’. The film was shot on location in India, mostly in Mumbai. The Award winning movie has already grossed USD 48 million in the US and is expected to exceed USD 80 million in total.

BIOGRAPHY

Simon was born in Keighley. He was completed his education in Ermysted’s Grammar School and Sedbergh School, and graduated from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. He was scripted in more films. After the success of Slumdog Millionaire, he became more popular all around the world. He had already gained a better image in the Hollywood Industry with his major writing credits. It was ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day’ in 2008, ‘Yasmin’ in 2004,’This Is Not a Love Song’ in 2002, ‘Blow Dry’ in 2001, ‘Everyone’s Happy’ in 2000, ‘Running Time’ in 2000, ‘The Darkest Light’ in 1999, ‘Among Giants’ in 1998, ‘The Full Monty’ in 1997. For his score of the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”, he won 2009 Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA award. The “Slumdog Millionaire” Movie also won a lot of awards. The movie won 8 Oscar for many categories including Best film, Best Director, Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best screen play,Best editing and Best Original song.

This film also brings popularity to the Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor who appeared as “Prem Kumar” in that movie. He had acted as the host of the television show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” in “Slumdog Millionaire” which was his first international film. He won “Screen Actors Guild Award” for Outstanding Performance by a cast in a Motion Picture and received a nomination for Best Ensemble at the “Black Reel Awards” of 2008 for his performances in that film.

BIOGRAPHY

Famous film actor and producer Anil Kapoor was born in Mumbai as the son of film producer Surinder Kapoor and Nirmal Kapoor. He belongs to a film related family. His elder brother Boney Kapoor is a producer and his younger brother Sanjay Kapoor is also a well known Bollywood actor. He is also the brother in law of famous actress Sredevi. He is married to Sunita Kapoor and they had two daughters and a son. His elder daughter Sonam Kapoor is also an actress in Bollywood. He gained his school education from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Chembur. Then he joined St. Xaviers College for higher study. But due to the lack of presence, he moved from the college in the second year. After that he was attracted by Bollywood films. He tried to join Pune Film Institute, but he failed in the written examination. Then he decided to join Roshan Taneja’s Acting school.

Anil Kapoor started his career with small roles. He made his first appearance in Bollywood as a supporting role in Umesh Mehra’s “Hamare Tumhare” movie. After acting in small roles in films like “Hum Paanch” and “Shakti”, he went on Kannada and Telugu films where he acted in leading roles in M.S.Sathyu’s “Kahan Kahan Se Guzar Gaye” and Mani Ratnam’s debut film “Pallavi-Annupallavi”. “Woh Saat Din” is his first Hindi film, in which he acted in leading role. In this film he acted as a small town musician who attracted the hearts of the audience. After that he has never looked back. He appeared in many super hit movies. His wonderful performance in movies like “Mashaal “, “Meri Jung” and “Karma” were well received by audience. He won his first Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in the movie “Mashaal”. He gave a new dimension to the action hero image to Shekhar Kapur’s film “Mr. India”.
