India’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni now faces the toughest challenge of his career as a captain, because he leads his dream team in New Zealand from this month. India Vs New Zealand cricket series will began on 25th February. India will play five one day international, two T20 and three test matches in New Zealand. These 46 days cricket tour will be start with Twenty20 International match against New Zealand at Christchurch on February 25 and second T20 match will be played at Wellington on February 27.The first ODI will be played in Napier on March 3, 2nd ODI at Wellington, 3rd ODI at Christchurch, 4th ODI at Hamilton and 5th ODI played at Auckland. The first Test will be played at Hamilton, 2nd Test at Napier and 3rd Test played at Wellington. Indian team played in New Zealand before 6 years, but that tour was bad for India. They lost the test series by 2-0 and lost seven match one day series by 5-2. But in recent matches against Sri Lanka, India come back as a powerful team with their youngest players and their brilliant captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni . India won the ODI series against Sri lanka with 4-1 margin and also won the T20 match. Also now India is in 3rd position of ICC ODI ranking. New Zealand had recently completed its series against Australia.The ODI series was drawn 2-2 while Australia won the only T-20 match. India had won many more matches against New Zealand. So it will be interesting to see how Dhoni’ s dream team performs in New Zealand and also eager to see India will win its first Test series in New Zealand in 40 years. So now the Indian cricket teams are on a high, they changed their jersey appearance. A good looking blue jersey have been unveiled by the Indian team yesterday. They unveiled it through a Fashion ramp walk. Team India’s jersey sponsors Nike had done the magic again for the team departing to New Zealand tour. This function became more and more delightful when the former players like Venkatesh Prasad, Vinod Kambli, Robin Singh and Laxman Sivaramakrishnan were also present wearing the old blue jersey of the Team India. Indian skipper M.S Dhoni all the way praised the jersey and said that it wont get dirty easily. Their debut match will be T20 against New Zealand on February 25. Lets wait and see whether Black cats can tie up Indian tigers.

The 1st Twenty20 International between India and New Zealand played on February 25 at AMI Stadium, Christchurch. New Zealand won the first twenty20 match by 7 wickets. In this match New Zealand won the toss and decided to field first. Then Indian team take batting and with the help of SK Raina’s 61 runs India take total 162 runs with loss of 8 wickets. New Zealand bowlers IE O’Brien and IG Butler bowled very well and they take 2 wickets each in this match. Chasing the small score of India, New Zealand team batted very well and take target score of 163 runs very easily by losing only 3 wickets. BB McCullum is selected as the ‘man of the match’.
The second Twenty20 match is played on 27th February Westpac Stadium, Wellington. New Zealand again won the toss and decided to field. India then batted with the determination to keep the status of twenty20 world champion. With Yuvraj Singh’s 50 and Dhoni’s 28 runs India take 149 runs with loss of 6 wickets. But New Zealand batsman BB McCullum again proved his talent by taking 69 runs. With help of this runs New Zealand won the victory against India by 5 wickets. Thus New Zealand won two Twenty20 match against India. BB McCullum is again selected as the man of the match. Indian batsman’s senseless approach to batting is the reason for their loss. In my opinion, Indian players should take the game serious and also remember that a world cup win is not the end of the world.
The first ODI between India and New Zealand played on March 3 at at McLean Park in Napier. India won this match by 53 runs according to the Duckworth Lewis method. India win the toss and decided to bat first in this match. India take 273 runs with loss of 4 wickets for 38 overs at the end of the rain-shortened the match. V.Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar give a good start to India. Sehwag take 77 runs. Also Dhoni’s score of 84 runs and Suresh Raina’s score of 66 runs give India to a huge total of 273 runs. But New Zealand take only 162 runs for 9 wickets. Their batsman Martin Guptill batted very well with 64 runs, but his performance did not give a victory to New Zealand. Indian bowlers Harbhajan Sing take 3 wickets and Praveen kumar take 2 wickets in this match. Dhoni was selected as the Man of the Match in this game. Now India leads the five-match series 1-0 margin.
India- New Zealand second ODI match played at Wellington. In this match India won the toss and elected to bat first. Sachin Tendulkar with 61runs and Virender Sehwag with 54 runs give a good start to India. But the rain came as a villain of the match. When India gained 188 for four in 28.4 overs, the rain came and the officials decided to cancel this match.
The third ODI match between India and New Zealand match played at Christchurch. In this match, India batted first. Indian opening batsman are struggled to get runs in first overs of this match. But when Sachin and Yuvaraj came, the runs are flows in their bats. With the help of Sachin’s unbeaten 163 runs and Yuvaraj’s 87 runs, India take 392/4 in 50 overs. In replay to this huge score, New Zealands started brilliantly with a 166 runs first wicket partnership in just 22 overs by Ryder and McCullum. Ryder scored his first century in this match. He scored 105 runs off 80 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes. But their all batsman are all out in 46th over with 334 runs. This match is really a festival of runs. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has showed a wonderful batting performance in this match and he was rightly chosen the “Man of the Match” for his great innings of 163 not out. The fourth ODI match between India and New Zealand match played at Hamilton. India won this match by 84 runs according to the Duckworth Lewis method and also wins the series 3-0 margin. This was Indian’s first one-day series victory on New Zealand soil in 33 years. In this match, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. The New Zealand opening batsmen Bendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder are started very well and make first wicket partnership with 104 runs. With the help these runs, they took 260/5 in 47.0 overs. In replay to this score, India’s Sehwag and Gambhir started very well. It was really amazing to see Viru’s magic in this match. Sehwag really blasted the NZ bowling attack and scored the fastest 100 in ODI beating Azharuddin previous best of scoring 100 in 62 balls. He gained his 100 in just 60 balls. He smacked 14 boundaries and six sixes in this match. Gambhir also played an awesome supporting innings. He made 63 not out off 67 balls. Rain again came as villain in this match. So the targeted score is reduced to 220 in 36 overs. But due to the rain, the match is not completed. So according to the Duckworth Lewis method, India won the match by 10 wickets. The 5th and last ODI match of this series will be held on 14th March at Eden Park, Auckland.

New zealand easily scored this target score with loss of only two wickets. Thus India had lost the 5th ODI against New zealand. However, India won ODI series with 3-1 margin. Indian player Sehwag was declared as ‘Man of the Series’ and New zealand Jesse Ryder was declared as Man of the Match. India played very well on this series and the reason for India’s loss in 5th match is that they become too over confident after winning 3 matches against New zealand.

In this New zealand tour, India had to play 3 tests against New zealand. The India -New zealand first Test had played at Hamilton. India skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field. New Zealand were all out for 279 in 78.2 overs with century contributions by Ryder 102 and Vettori 118. Ishant Sharma took 4 wickets for 73 runs and Munaf Patel chipped in with 3 for 60. The second test match played on March 26 at McLean Park, Napier. In this match, New zealand choose to be bat first and was struggling at 23/3 in 10 overs but 271 runs fourth wicket partnership between Taylor and Ryder give a strong position at the end of the day one. With the help of Taylor’s 150 off just 204 balls with 26 fours and a six and Ryder’s 137 not out off 220 ball with 17 fours and six , New zealand scored 351 runs for the loss of four wickets in first day of the match. In the second day, New zealand declared their fist innings with 619 runs for nine wickets. On the third day of the test match Dravid haD scored 83 runs,Tendulkar scored 49 runs and VVS Laxman scored 76 runs. India lost their last 4 wickets for just 35 runs. So India was all out for 305 in their first innings. On the 4th day of the test, India had to follow on their innings. In that day, Dravid and Gambhir gave a great opening partnership of 133 runs before Dravid given out by umpiring error on 62 runs. Then Tendulkar and Gambhir put unbeaten 89 runs partnership. Gautam Gambhir batted nearly 11 hours for 137 runs and V.V.S. Laxman made a stylish 124 not out in the final day and India reach 476 for four wickets. Then the both teams captains decided to call off play with India scored 476 for 4 with a lead of 162 runs in their second innings and second test match between India and New zealand ended in a draw. India lead the test series with 1-0 margin and the 3rd Test will be held at Wellington.
India - New zealand third and final test had played in the cold weather of Basin Reserve, Wellington. New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori won the toss and India batted first. On the first day of this match, India finished their first innings on 379 runs for all out in 92.1 overs.Tendulkar, Dhoni and Harbhajan scored fifties. Each of the players had scored 62, 52 and 60 respectively in this match.They could add only four runs more in the second day and got out early in the morning. In the first innings, New zealand took only 197 runs for all out in 65 overs. Ross Taylor was the highest run scorer and he scored 42 runs. Zaheer khan was the hero of the second day match.His five wicket helped India to take a 233 runs lead of New Zealand. Harbajan singh bagged three important wickets and another two wickets were taken by Ishant Sharma and Munaf Patel. Gautam Gambhir was the great performer of the third day. He scored his 6th test century with 167 runs off 257 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes. Dravid scored another half century and India declared the second innings with 434 runs for seven wickets. India set a target of 617 runs in the 2nd inning of the 3rd and final test on the 4th day and took New Zealand’s 4 wicket before bad light stopped the play. On the 5th day of the match, When New Zealand were 281/8, rain came as a villain and denied India their first Test win in Wellington in 34 years.This match ended in draw. Though rain denied a victory to India in the third and final Test in Wellington, but India won historic test series victory against New Zealand after 40 years. India won this victory with 1-0 margin. India won the first Test in Hamilton by 10 wickets and drew the second Test in Napier.
