CHANDRA BABU NAIDU

N.Chandrababu Naidu is the president of Telugu Desam Party and opposition leader in the Andhra Pradesh state assembly. He was also the former Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and he holds the record of being the longest-serving chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004. He was the first Indian politician to “discover” the IT industry. He brings techno-fame to Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh by creating Hi-Tech city.

BIOGRAPHY

He was born on April 20 in 1950 as the son of a farmer from the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. He gained his Master degree in Economics from the Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati and also gained Ph.D in Economics. He is married to the daughter of N.T. Rama Rao, a superstar of Telugu films and founder of the TDP and had a son Lokesh. Earlier he was the member of Congress and was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on a congress ticket. He served Tanguturi Anjaiah’s Government and holds various posts including Archives, Cinematography, Technical Education, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Public Libraries and Minor Irrigation. When he failed in 1983 elections on a Congress party ticket then he resigned from the Congress and joined the Telugu Desam Party founded by his father-in-law N.T.Rama Rao. In 1989, he was elected to the State Legislature on a Telugu Desam Party ticket. In 1994, he was again elected to the Assembly with  the huge majority and holds the posts such as Finance and Revenue. In 1995, for Chief Minister ship, he constructed a rebellion in the party by defecting a large number of MLAs into his side. He had to face challenges from Lakshmi Parvathi, second wife of N. T. Rama Rao for Chief Ministership. However, he became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1995.  He continued to strengthen the party and in the 1996 parliamentary elections, the TDP made great victory and he became a Chief Minister for the second term. He tried his best to make Hyderabad into IT city. Microsoft decided to set up its first Research Lab outside US in Hyderabad. He used modern technologies such as videoconferencing. Using this he address all District Collectors on a regular basis or consult the Cabinet ministers on various issues like the electric power situation in various districts, the Clean and Green program, rythu (farmer) bazaars, monitoring of commodity prices, implementation of road works, public health & sanitation and law and order. Through this, he was quickly solved public’s issues without delay. He launched schemes like “Janmabhoomi”, a project encouraging people to be part of the development of the state. However, he attracted criticism for neglecting the agricultural sector, which accounts for more than 70% of the state’s population. In 2003, he survived an assassination attempt planned by a naxal outfit, Peoples War Group, now known as CPI Maoist. TDP lost power in the 2004 Assembly elections largely due to agriculture troubles in the state. TDP lost 2004 elections. Reason for this lose is Naidu mainly focused on IT by neglecting agriculture activities in that time and the alliance of the Congress with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi , Communist Party of India , Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and other parties. Farmers’ suicides, widespread drought, naxalite problems and neglecting rural areas in favor of urban areas are also reasons for this defeat in election.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Chandra Babu Naidu won numerous awards and honors including ” IT Indian of the Milleneum”, “Business Person of the Year”, Member of the ‘World Economic Forum’s Dream Cabinet’ and ‘South Asian’ of the Year 1999. He was chosen as one of the 50 leaders at the forefront of change’ in the year 2000 by the Business Week magazine for being an unflinching proponent of technology and for his drive to transform the State. Chandrababu Naidu was ranked among the ten most admired Indians in a national poll conducted by Week magazine. He was also chosen for being a good administrator, improving IT field, a good politicians and working for woman’s progress.

This beauty contest is a great platform for Indian girls, not only test their beauty and talent but also to prepare a way for their successful career in various industries including Bollywood. It gives a new identity to the girls where she can show herself with gracious and beauty. This competition is depending on a lot of another quality such as personality, talent demonstration and question responses as judged etc. Beauty and confidence are the important qualities of this test and everyone is attracted to it. The Winner of Miss India title represents the country in the Miss World competition, the first runner-up will represent in Miss Universe contest and second runner up and other independent display winners are sent to the Miss Asia, Miss International and Miss Asia-Pacific competitions. The year 1994 was the good year of India, because 1994 Miss. India Sushmita Sen won the Miss Universe and the runner up to Aishwarya Rai won the Miss World title. Today, they are famous actresses in Bollywood. FEMINA MISS INDIA 2009 WINNERS

This years “Pantaloons Femina Miss India” grand finale held on 5th April at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. In this final, “Ekta Chaudhary” from Delhi was crowned Miss India Universe 2009, “Pooja Chopra” from Pune was chosen Miss India World, while “Shriya Kishore” from Mumbai was crowned Miss India Earth. This show was hosted by Malaika Arora Khan and south Indian star R. Madhavan. The Famous actress Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Genelia D’Souza performances give a magic look to this show. The judges of this show where the best director Madhoor Bandarka, Bollywood personalities Susmita Sen, Deepika Padukone, Asin, Ajay Devgan, I GM Managing director Ravi Krishnan, Fashion designer Nandita Mahtani and Lakme Advisor Anil Chopra. Previous year’s Miss India World Parvathy Omanakuttan, Miss India Universe Simran Kaur Mundi and Miss India Earth Tanvi Vyas give crowns on their respective successors. The twenty contestants from all over India entered in the quarter final. They are Tulip Bhattacharya, Sonakshi Sajnani, Shriya Kishore, Ragini Dwivedi, Pooja Hegde, Nishtha Khadiwala, Niharika Nag, Nandini Vaid, Karishma Karnik, Ishita Sarkar, Harshita Saxena, Hanika Paryani, Faith Pandey, Ekta Chowdhry, Dimple Patel, Deeksha Seth, Aparajita Sharma, Akanksha Yadav and Aarohi Kadam. In this list ten contestants were shortlisted for the semi finals of the Competition. They are Deeksha Seth, Shriya Kishore, Ekta Chaudhury, Ragini Dwivedi, Faith Pandey, Pooja Chopra, Harshita Saxena, Niharika Naganda, Ishita Sarkar and Nandini Ved. In this 5 are reached in final. They are Ekta Chaudhury, Shriya Kishore, Harshita Saxena, Pooja Chopra and Ishita Sarkar. In this list 22 yearl old Delhi beauty Ekta Chaudhury was crowned Pantaloons Femina ‘Miss India universe’ in 2009. This very talented and confident black eyed beauty stands tall at 5′9 and her weight is 55.5kg. 22 years old Mumbai based ‘Miss India Earth’ beauty Shriya Kishore stands tall at 5′10 and her weight is 59kg. She has interested in dancing, singing and painting. The Pune based 23 years old Pooja Chopra won the Miss India World award. Other beauty queens are Sonakshi was crowned the ‘Miss India Sexy Legs’, Diksha was won the ‘Miss Fresh Face’ title. Harshita became the ‘Miss Agile’, Karishma Karnik’ was won ‘Miss Confident crown’, and Ragini was won ‘Miss Beautiful Hair’ title. ‘Miss Beautiful eyes’ went to Niharika, ‘Miss Hospitality’ was Shreya Kishore, Dimple Patel was ‘Miss Photogenic’ and  Ishita Sarkar possessed the ‘Golden Heart’.
