VIRBHADRA SINGH

Virbhadra Singh is an Indian politician belonging to the Indian National Congress Party. Now, he is selected as minister of Steel in the new government of India. He is one of the senior Cabinet Minister in the Government of India. He has been a former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and also served five times as chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Virbhadra is one of a good qualified and highly experienced politician of Indian politics.The Indian people had great respect to this person.

BIOGRAPHY

Virbhadra Singh was born on 23rd June, 1934 at Sarahan, Shimla as the son of Raja Sir Padam Singh. He gained his education from “Bishop Cotton School”, Shimla and “St. Stephen`s College”, Delhi. He was honorary Captain in the Indian Army. He was the selected member of Lok Sabha in 1962, 1967, 1972 and in 1980. In 1976, he was the member of Indian Delegation to the General Assembly of the United Nations.  From 1976 to March 1977, he held the post of Deputy Minister of `Tourism & Civil Aviation` in Government of India and also was the Minister of State for Industries in 1982. He was elected two time to the State Legislative Assembly from Jubbal-Kotkhai Constituency first on 1983 in a by-election and again in 1985 general elections. He was also served five times as chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and he was the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly in 1998 to 2003. He was also related with several cultural and social organizations including president of “Sanskrit Sahitya Sammelan” and “Friends of Soviet Union Society”. He ensured minimum elementary level education compulsory for the children and the government focused on qualitative educational enhancement.In broadly speaking, Virbhadra Singh is one of the great leaders that the state had ever seen.

C.P Joshi is a surprise cabinet minister in  Manmohan Singh’s new government. In this government, his portfolios is Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. Joshi is the president of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). He is a first-time MP and first-time Minister at the Center cabinet though he was a Cabinet Minister in the Gehlot Government in Rajasthan from 1988 to 2003 and was headed important portfolios like education, panchayti raj, rural development, public health engineering, policy planning and information technology. He is also elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Bhilwara parliamentary Constituency in Rajasthan. Also he has been elected four times as MLA from Rajasthan.

BIOGRAPHY

C.P. Joshi was born in Kunwaria in Rajsamand District in 1950 as the son of Bhudev Joshi and ,Shushila Joshi. His full name is “Chandra Prakash Joshi”. He gained his graduation from “M.B College” in Udaipur and also completed his master in physics and doctorate in psychology from the “MLS University” in Udaipur. He was also worked as a lecturer in the same college after completion of his education. He is married to Hemlata and they have a son. He was started his political career as a student’s union president for Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 1973.Then he was elected as MLA from Nathadwara Assembly in 1980 and 1985. From 1998 to 2003, Joshi was served as a Cabinet Minister in the Gehlot Government in Rajasthan. As PCC President, his hard work and rigid commitment helped congress to form a government at the state level in 2008. He was also played a key role as a member of opposition party during the entire 5 years of BJP regime. He is also credited with the stunning victory of congress in Rajasthan in this Lok Sabha election. In this election, congress gained  20 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. Serving the state as a minister, he gave a new dimension to education. He started educational revolution in villages. Also he was created and implemented programs like “Primary Education” and “Balika Education”. These programs are considered as very important programs even today and even the opposition party was impressed with his work style. He was started green revolution with ‘Bagheri Naka Irrigation Pariyojna’, which was increased the agricultural production of common men. He was introduced computer education in Rajasthan. He was also done notable work in the field of health and medicine.
