ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2009 TEAM - INDIA

Indian cricket team create a history in 20-20 cricket by winning the first ICC T20 World Cup at South Africa in 2007. In the final of ICC T20 World Cup 2007, they defeated their always rival Pakistan by 5 runs. In the final, Indian players Gautam Gambhir took 75 runs and Rohit Sharma took 30 not out. With the help of these runs, Indian team gained 157 in 20 overs. In replay to this score, Pakistan took only 152 runs. India’s players Rudra Pratap Singh and Irfan Pathan took three wickets in this match and Irfan Pathan was declared as  Man of the Match.

HISTORY

Indian cricket team is the one of the strongest cricket team in the World. It is controlled by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the richest cricket board in the world. It is also the full time member of International Cricket Council (ICC). India hold the position of third in Tests and ODIs in ICC ranking list. India has produced many outstanding cricketers of the world. Vijay Merchant,  Lala Amarnath,  Prasanna, Vinoo Mankad,  BS Chandrasekhar, Bishen Singh Bedi, Gundappa Viswanath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Mohammed Azharuddin, Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar are some of the players who touched the hearts of all cricket lovers in the world. At the end of the 1970s , the Indian team become the strongest team with the appearance of great players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Prasanna, Venkataraghavan and Bishen Singh Bedi. Currently, Gary Kirsten is head coach and  Mahendra Singh is the captain of the Indian cricket team. It also includes world’s leading players including Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid who hold numerous cricketing world records. Indian team gained many achievements. It won the 1983 World Cup by beating the World Champions West Indies and also reached in the World Cup semi finals in 1987 and 1996 and were runners-up in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup. It also won the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in 2007.

INDIA IN ICC 20-20 WORLD CUP

In the Twenty20 World cup 2007, India placed in Group D along with Pakistan and Scotland. Match with Scotland was canceled due to the rain and India won the match by bowl-out method against Pakistan and qualified for Super 8 match. In Super 8 match, India was defeated by New Zealand by 10 runs. But India won the victory against England and South Africa in Super 8 match. So India entered in semi final. In the semi final, India defeated Australia by 15 runs and reached in final. In the final, they defeated Pakistan by 5 runs. The second T20 World Cup will be starts from June 5th Friday, 2009 and ends on June 21, Sunday 2009. So Indian team is ready for this World cup battle under the captaincy of  Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Recent days, India won many Test and ODI matches under Dhoni’s captaincy. So all Indian people hope that, India will again win Twenty 20 World cup. In the 4th match of 2009 T20 world cup India beat Bangladesh by 25 runs in the group A match.India won the toss and elected to bat first.They took 180 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.Yuvraj Singh  showed an amazing batting in this match .He took 41 runs from 18 balls.Gautam Gambhir (50),Rohit Sharma(36) also played well.Pragyan Ojha became the man of the match for his amazing bowling.He took 4 valuable wickets.He bowled a superb spell to finish the job.Yuvraj Sigh’s powerful performance  helped India to score better.

In the 12th match of T20 World cup India beat Ireland by 8 wickets.India won the toss and elected to field first.In the first innings Ireland scores 112 for 8 wickets in 18 overs.The rain interrupted this match.India reach the target with in 15.3 overs.Zaheer Khan’s bowling and Rohit Sharma’s batting helped India to achieve this victory.Zaheer Khan is elected as the man of the match for his good bowling (4/19). He has proved his fitness and looks at his best once again; good news for India.Rohit Sharma took 52 runs from 45 balls.The team entered in to the super eight stage.

India defeated by West Indies in the super eight match of T20 world cup.India won the toss and elected to bat first.They took 153 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.But West Indies achived the target within 18.4 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.Yuvraj Singh took 67 runs from 43 balls for the country.Yusuf Pathan also took 41 runs.

India defeated by England in the super eight match of T20 World cup.India won the toss and elected to field first.They restricted England to 7-153 after electing to field in good batting conditions.Dhoni (30 not out) and Yusuf (33 not out) added 63 for the unbroken sixth wicket after half the side was back in the pavilion by the 14th over with only 87 on the board.With this defeat India eliminated from the tournament.

India defeated by South Africa by 12 runs in T20 World cup.South Africa won the toss and they elected to bat first.South Africa scored 130 for 5.Chasing this score Indian team managed to score only 118 runs for 8 wickets.Indians put up a strong challenge by restricting the South African batting to 130 for 5 on a turning track but in the end  bowed before the might of the South Africans.Yuvraj Singh gave hope of an Indian victory to the fans.The Indian opening pair were also gives hope to the fans,but it fell to South African spinners.The team is alreday out from the tournament.

The world’s largest vehicle manufacturer company ‘Honda’ has recently created the new Honda car called “Honda Jazz”. It is a new lifestyle car and it will be launched in India by the month of June 2009.The Japanese manufacturer will launch its first hatchback for the Indian auto market. In addition,  its attractive headlamps together with the sharply inclined windscreens will add more glamor to this car. Two front airbags are a very important feature of the Honda Jazz. Other features of Honda Jazz include customized navigation system, in-car entertainment, ABS Brakes, transponder coded immobilizer, power windows and mirrors, central locking and sporty tyres.  It is expected that in India Honda will launch Jazz in 3 models - Base model S, Mid line SE & top of the line Sport in the price range of 4.5 lakhs to 6 lakhs. The company is also expected to launch a diesel variant of Honda Jazz in India.
