ACER ASPIRE TIMELINE SERIES NOTEBOOK

The world’s second-largest laptop manufacturer ‘Acer’ and leading chip manufacturer’ Intel’ launched their super thin notebook models titled ” Aspire Timeline Series’ (ATS) “in India. Aspire Time line family includes three notebooks namely ‘13.3″ AS3810 T’, ‘14″ AS4810 T’, and ‘15.6″ AS5810 T’. The Aspire ‘3810 T’ is priced at Rs 39999, Aspire 4810 T at Rs 42999 and Aspire 5810 T at Rs 44999. These series aimed to strike an equilibrium between computer lightness and battery life. These notebook models offered over eight hours of battery life on a single charge. So using these notebooks, we can compute all day, and it is very good for business professionals and students, because they can use it up to eight hours without having to search for a power socket. These series of notebooks feature an optional RAM up to 8GB DDR3 , up to 500GB hard drive or 80GB SSD storage and come with standard Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics.  Also it comes with Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, web cam, and Dolby Sound Room and FineTip keyboard. Built-in WiFi and WiMAX connectivity, and an optional 3G/HSDPA facility is also available in these notebooks. These series is specifically designed for energy-efficient performance. For that purpose the notebooks are based on the latest technologies such as Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low voltage processors and Intel Display Power Savings Technology (Intel DPST) that reduces display backlight with minimum visual impact. It  consumed 33% less energy in comparison to other notebooks, and it makes Aspire Timeline series ecofriendly. Another interesting feature is that its special Power Smart button located above the keyboard, which allows consumers to easily extend battery life by activating advanced power saving settings.  In fact, these series mark the beginning of a new era in mobile computing with their light weight and eight hours battery life.

ACCER

Accer is a Taiwan based multinational electronics manufacturer whose products are desktops, laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), servers and storage, computer peripherals etc. It employs 5400 people throughout the world and has created a consolidated sales and service network in more than 100 countries. It is considered as the third largest computer manufacturer in the world after HP and Dell. Accer’s orginal name was “Multitech” and it was founded by Stan Shih and his wife Carolyn Yeh in 1976. In 1987, Multitech was renamed as “Accer” and its head quarters is located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The mission of this company is to break the barriers between people and technology. Primarily, it was the distributor of electronic parts and a consultant in the use of microprocessor technologies, and now it grows as the third largest computer manufacturer in the world. In 1997, Accer purchased Texa’s Instrument laptop division, and now it grows as the world’s second-largest laptop manufacturer. Accer’s this purchase helped Accer to expand into new areas of technology in the desktops. They incorporate some features of laptops including smaller screens and a smaller size into their desktops. Now Accer is the leader in the notebook sector and it first in 13 countries. This company also supports sports. It was the sponsor of BAR-Honda Formula One racing team in 2000 and also the sponsor of Prost Grand Prix Formula One team. It will be partnering for the coming 2010 Winter Olympic game and 2012 Summer Olympics.

HABIB TANVIR

The Bollywood Industry is lost their famous playwrights and theater director Habib Tanvir. He died on 8th June 2009 at National Hospital in Bhopal after the long illness. He wrote many plays including “Agra Bazar” and “Charandas Chor”and also scripted many films and acted in a few of the films. He is only the theater personality that had founded a theater company called the ‘Naya Theater’.

BIOGRAPHY

Thanvir was born in Raipur,Chhattisgarh in 1923. His born name was Habib Ahmed Khan Tanvir . He did his matriculation from Laurie Municipal High School, Raipur and completed his BA from Morris College Nagpur in 1944. After his post graduation at Aligarh Muslim University. He was married to Monika and they have a daughter Nagin. He was moved to Bombay and he wrote songs for Hindi films and acted in a few of them. He also wrote film reviews in English, poems in Urdu, and joined the “Indian People’s Theater Association” as an actor and director. In 1954, Habib Tanvir moved to Delhi and produced his famous play “Agra Bazar”. On a Government of India scholarship, Tanvir went to England and got training at the’ Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’ and in direction at ‘Bristol Old Vic Theater School’. On returning to Delhi, he did a London play, ‘Clay Cart’ and this was adapted by Zaidi from Sudraka`s Mricchakatika for Hindustani Theater.  In 1959, he was founded a theater company called “Naya Theater”. This theater produced a number of plays including modern and ancient classics of India and Europe. Then he was started adapting, directing, and scripting plays in English, Hindi, and Urdu. He staged European and Sanskrit drama, classics as well as folk stories. In his career, he was also directs for other troupes and other important production including Brecht`s `The Good Woman of Setzuan`, Visakhadatta`s ‘The Signet Ring of Rakshasa’ and `Mudra-Rakshasa`. Other notable dramas of him are “Shatranj Ke Mohrey”, “Raj Rakt”, “Ponga Pandit”, “Kalarin”, “Hirma ki amar kahani”, “Gaon ke naon Sasural” etc. Later, he was collaborated with Shyam Benegal, when he adapted the play to a feature length film, “Charandas Chor” starring Smita Patil and Lalu Ram. “Chhattisgarhi”, “Fida Bai Markam”, “Govind Ram”, “Bhulwa Ram, “Deepak Tiwari’” are comic plays of him. During his career, Habib has acted in over nine feature films, including Richard Attenborough’s film “Gandhi” in 1982 and ‘Bhopal Gas Tragedy’ .

AWARDS AND HONORS

Thanvir had received many awards and honors in his career. He had received “Sangeet Natak Akademi Award” in 1969 and “Padma Shri” in 1983, “Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship” in 1996, and the “Padma Bhushan” in 2002. He was also nominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha in 1972-1978. His play ‘Charandas Chor’ got him the Fringe Firsts Award at Edinburgh International Drama Festival in 1982.
