Famous mobile phone manufacturer “Samsung” is now ready to create a new segment in India’s mobile phone market with the introduction of ‘Samsung Marine B2100, the first outdoor phone in the Indian market. This water-proof, shock-proof, dust-proof and bump-proof phone will be the perfect companion for consumers who enjoy active outdoor activities. Furthermore, this phone provides perfect outdoor mobile experiences while supporting dust protection and water protection. The outer shell of the phone is an anti-shock urethane-made casing, which gives it its rough and tough capabilities. It also has decent water resistive capability, and it is resistant to water up to one meter deep for as long as half an hour.  It is excellent in weathering harsh rains, fog, humidity, sand and extreme temperatures. It is also equipped with outdoor friendly features such as loud external speakers, noise cancellation and a flash light. RAILWAY BUDGET 2009



All Indians are eagerly waiting for the announcement of railway budget 2009 by their Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on today. This budget presentation is Mamata’s third Rail Budget presentation. She was presented her last budget nine years ago under Vajpayee’s NDA government. People is expecting better improvement from this railway minister than the previous railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav who has left behind an amount of Rs. 90000 crore as cash remainder. Now a days recession heavily effect railways which depend heavily on freight for its revenues, so the people hope that this new budget will take steps to overcome this recession.  Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee told the reporters that she will present a pro-people budget, a simple budget and people’’s budget of this year. Nominal passenger fare revision, incentives on freight transport, enhanced funding for security and seasonal passes for vendors at Rs 20 are likely to be the highlights of this budget. Also more trains like ‘Garib Raths’ are expected to be announced. Also expected the improvement in railway conveniences and food served in trains. Announcement of more rail over bridges and rail under bridges at unmanned level crossings to curb accidents are might also be mention in this budget.  Introduction of integrated security system at major stations to strengthen security might also be announced. Also boost rail connectivity between industrial hubs and major ports. Today, the railways with a 63,327-kilometer long network forms an integral part of life. So the people are expected to be a populist budget of this year.

Railway minister Mamata Banerjee was announced the 15th Railway budget in the parliament on today. It has a range of schemes for passengers and priority given to passenger conveniences. This budget did not increase passenger fares or freight rates. This budget also includes Non-stop AC ‘Turant’ trains to be introduced, 12 new ‘Turant’ AC sleeper trains between major metros, Tatkal scheme to be reduced from 5 days to 2 days, Kolkata Metro to get more extensions, Priority for food and water on trains, Book stores, PCOs to be set up across stations, Infotainment services on Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains,Developing multi-functional complexes at stations, Passengers can buy tickets from Post Offices, SMS updates on wait-listed tickets to be introduced, Toilet facilities for women at stations, Tatkal fees reduced from Rs 150 to Rs 100, Auto-vending machines to be installed in large and medium stations, High-capacity air-conditioned double-decker trains to be introduced on select inter-city routes, Unreserved ticketing terminals to be expanded from 5,000 to 8,000. Automatic ticket vending machines to be increased, Seven nursing colleges to be set up on railway land in places including Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, Railway medical colleges to be developed along with rail hospitals on public-private partnership, Railways to develop cold storages for farmers to store vegetables and fruits, Photo-ID cards-cum-credit cards to be given to accredited journalists, Travel concession has been increased from 30 to 50 per cent for them, Ladies’ specials to be introduced in suburban trains during peak hours, Twelve non-stop point-to-point trains between select cities to be introduced. The sections include — Howrah-Mumbai, Delhi-Lucknow, Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Pune, Delhi-Allahabad, Howrah-Delhi, Sealdah-Delhi and Ernakulum-Delhi, Railway ministry has plans to develop important stations through private-public partnership. These include CST Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Howrah, Sealdah, Varanasi, New Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Chennai Central, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Secunderabad, Bangalore City, Byappanahalli, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Habibganj, Agra Central, Chandigarh, Kolkata, New Jalpaiguri, Puri and Kochi, New scheme called ‘Izzat’ for low-income monthly travel, Develop 50 stations as world class stations etc. During the presentation of the budget, Mamata announced that Railways will not be guided by economic imagination, but by social commitment. Hope that this Railway Budget will make train travel an ‘enjoyable experience’.
