Tiger Wood is one of the most popular Golf Player in America and also the best golfer in the world. The world number one golf player Tiger Woods is currently the top earner among the US athletes. The second  on the list of top earners is another golf player Mickelson and The top 50 earners includes 22 basketball players, 14 baseball players, nine NFL players, and two NASCAR drivers. Tiger woods earned $5.775 million on last year’s PGA Tour, in comparison to $10.867 million in 2007.

BIOGRAPHY

Tiger Wood was born on December 30, 1975 in Cypress, California. He was the only child of Earl and Kultida Woods. His father Earl Woods was a lieutenant colonel in the Army and a former Green Beret. He was grown up in Orange County, California and  his parents identified their son’s talent at an early age. At the age of eight, Woods had become extremely proficient at the game.  He had graduated from Western High School in Anaheim in 1994 and had studied at Stanford University, and won a number of amateur U.S. Golf titles before turning professional in 1996. He had won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships in 1991, 1992, and 1993, and the U.S. Amateur title in 1994, 1995, and 1996. He had played his first professional tournament in 1992. Tiger became the professional golfer in 1996. In that year, he had played in eight official PGA tour events and also won two of them. He had won $790,594 and finished 24th on the final 1996 money list for professional golfers. In 1997, he became the youngest player to win the Master and the youngest ever world number one golfer when he was 21 years old. He had also won ‘The Masters’ in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005, the ‘PGA Championship’ in 1999, 2000 and 2006, the ‘British Open’ in 2000, 2005 and 2006, and the ‘U.S. Open’ in 2000 and 2002. In 2004, Tiger woods married to 24 year old, Elin Nordegren. They first met at the British Open when Elin was working for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik in 2001. Tiger had a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods and a son Charlie Axel. In June 2006, Tiger Woods has played in the US Open. In 2007, he had won his 13th major victory in the USPGA. In 2008, Tiger Woods won his third ‘WGC Match Play Championship with a record 8 and 7 win over Stewart Cink. It was his sixth straight tournament success. In the same year, he has  won the ‘US Open’, and it was his 14th Major title. On 29th March 2009, Woods won his first title of the year at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he was five strokes behind Sean O’Hair entering the final round. He had also won his second event of 2009 at the Memorial Tournament, and it was his 67th PGA Tour victory. In 109th ‘US Open Golf Championship’, Tiger Woods has finished in 6th place with 4 shots.

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Tiger Woods had achieved many awards in his career. He had won the ‘U.S. Junior Amateur Championships’ in 1991, 1992, and 1993, and the ‘U.S. Amateur title’ in 1994, 1995, and 1996. He had also won ‘The Masters’ in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005, the ‘PGA Championship’ in 1999, 2000 and 2006, the ‘British Open’ in 2000, 2005 and 2006, and the ‘U.S. Open’ in 2000 and 2002. He was the best male golfer in 2003 and 2005. Woods won the “World Sportsman of the Year” award at the Laureus World Sports Awards in 2000 and 2001, won his fourth event in the 2000 season, with a five-shot victory over Ernie Els and Justin Leonard. During 1999, Woods picked up his second PGA Tour win, with a two-shot victory over Vijay Singh. Woods was named 1997 ‘PGA Player of the Year’ after four wins. Woods won his first international event in his mother’s homeland, Thailand, with a victory in the Asian Honda Classic.

The Academy Award-winning actor, Karl Malden had died at his home in Brentwood on 1st July, 2009.He has died at the age of 97 and the reason behind his death was natural causes. He was one of the very talented actors in Hollywood Industry.The greatest actor had won the ‘Oscar Award’ for Best Supporting Actor for ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ in 1951. He had also served as the academy’s president from 1989-92.

BIOGRAPHY

Karl Malden was born on March 22, 1912 in Chicago. He was the son of Serbian and Czech parents. Malden was the eldest of three sons and grew up in Gary, Indiana. His father was worked in the steel mills and as a milk man. Malden spoke the Serbian language and did not speak English language until he was in kindergarten. He developed a love of acting after appearing regularly in school plays and in productions organized by his father at a local church. In high school, he was a popular student and the star of the basketball team. After graduating from the Emerson School for Visual and Performing Arts, Malden failed to gain a basketball scholarship to Arkansas, so he had worked with his father in the Gary steel mills from 1931 through 1934. Then, he was attended the Chicago’s Goodman Theater Dramatic School in 1934. When Malden was performed in the Goodman’s children’s theater, he had met another scholarship student, Mona Greenberg, became his wife in 1938. He has two daughters, Mila and Carla. He was graduated from the Chicago Art Institute in 1937. While there, he adopted his stage name, Karl was taken from an uncle. Karl Malden marriage was the third longest lasting in Hollywood history, behind only actor Norman Lloyd and wife Peggy and legendary comic Bob Hope and wife Dolores. Karl Malden was first appeared as an actor on ‘Broadway’ in 1937. Three years later he was appeared in ‘They Knew What they Wanted’ in 1940. Malden’s career was put on hold for military service in the Army Air Force during World War II, during which he appeared in the play and film “Winged Victory”in 1944. After the war in 1945, he had acted  another small supporting role in the play, ‘Truckline Cafe’ and also played the guest role in both ‘The Ford Theatre’ and ‘The Armstrong Circle Theater. Karl Malden’s another notable movies are including ‘The Gunfighter’ in 1950, ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ in 1951,’On the Waterfront’ in 1954, In Baby Doll in 1956. He starred in dozens of films from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, such as ‘Fear Strikes Out’ in 1957, ‘Pollyanna’ in 1960, ‘Birdman of Alcatraz’ in 1962, ‘Gypsy’ in 1962, ‘How the West Was Won’ in 1962, ‘The Cincinnati Kid’ in 1965,’Patton’ in 1970, ‘Summertime Killer’ in 1972, he appeared in the made-for-television film ‘The Hijacking of the Achille Lauro’ in 1989. Then he had served as the academy’s president from 1989-92. In the early 1970s, he had  built a television career and he had starred as “Detective Lieutenant Mike Stone” in “The Streets of San Francisco” in 1972. His last role in film or television was in 2000 in the highly acclaimed first season episode of the ‘The West Wing’ titled “Take This Sabbath Day”.

Karl Malden had achieved many awards in his Career. He had won the ‘Academy Award’ for Best Supporting Actor for ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’  in 1951 and was nominated in 1954 for his supporting role in ‘On the Waterfront’. In October of 2003, Malden was named the 40th recipient of the ‘Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award’ for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. He had nominated the 1957 ‘BAFTA film award’ for Best foreign actor for ‘Baby Doll’ and also won the ‘Bambi Awards’ in 1979. He had won the ‘Emmy Award’ for outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited series for ‘Fatal Vision’ in 1984 and  nominated for “The Streets of San Francisco”in 1977. He had also nominated for ‘Golden Dlobe award’ for “The Streets of San Francisco”,”Gypsy” and “Baby Doll”. In May 2001, Malden received an honorary degree, ‘Doctor of Humane Letters’, from Valparaiso University.
