The film “Short Kut-The Con Is On” directed by Neeraj Vora is an upcoming movie of Bollwood and it will be released on 10th July 2009. Famous actor Anil Kapoor is the producer of this film. Now it had a trouble, because a film maker Bhullar had charged actor turned producer Anil Kapoor of lifting his film title.  Bhullar stated that Anil Kapoor was used this title illegally. On the petition of Bhullar, Delhi High Court ordered the stay the promos of this film till Thursday and the judge also asked the two parties to mutually resolve the issue. So the release of this film depends on the ruling of the Delhi High Court today. Arshad Warsi, Akshaye Khanna and Amrita Rao are the main characters of this film. It is the remake of the Malayalam language film, “Udayananu Tharam”. Music has been given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics of Javed Akhtar. Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghosal, Javed Ali and Shankar Mahadevan are the singers of this film. This film reveals the trials and troubles of two artists, a struggling director and actor and the comic situations they face in the search of their dreams.

ABOUT MOVIE

Shekhar (Akshaye Khanna), is an enthusiastic assistant director and Chandu (Arshad Warsi) is a hopeful junior artist. They meet each other while struggling to make it in the film industry. While Shekhar is supremely talented and confident, Chandu is a buffoon and a non-actor who thinks he is God’s gift to Bollywood. By stealing Shekhar’s prized script, Raju became a super star in the film industry.After that incident, Shekhar dropped into a phase of self pity and depression, which results in his wife Mansi (Amrita Rao) leaving him, and she gets involved professionally with Raju.  Shekhar is now looking for that golden chance to get even with Chandu. Destiny again brings Raju and Shakhar personally when Shekhar is set to direct his first film,with the superstar Raju.  After that the real life drama of reel unfolds is the essence of the plot of a shortcut. In this film, we can see an absolutely hilarious tale of confusion, fraud, super stardom and subsequent fall . This film was shot in Thailand and it comes with the dose of laughter and emotions. The music for this film has been provided by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa and Javed Akhtar is the lyricist of this film. It comes from the production house of veteran actor, Anil Kapoor. Hope that this film will be hit on the box office in coming days.

MUSIC

The film “Short Kut-The Con Is On” contains six beautiful songs composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with the lyrics of Javed Akhtar. The sound track of this film was released in 17th June 2009. ‘Patli Galli’ is the first song of this film sung by Shankar Mahadevan which is the mix of modern and desi sounds and it is impressed by audience before the release of the film. ‘Kyon Hota Hai Dil Deewana’ is a entertaining song and ‘Kal Nau Baje’ is a melodious romantic duet. The last song ‘Mareez-e-Mohabbat’ has rap mixed between the dhols and tablas. The songs of this film are in the following,

UPDATES

Now the trouble of releasing of this film was removed. Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed Bollywood actor and producer Anil Kapoor to release the film “Short Kut” after he agreed to pay Rs.35 lakh to B.S. Bhullar who claimed copyright over the title.  So this film should be released on Today.

Now Malayalam super star Mohanlal will be known as Lt. Colonel Mohanlal, because he has been commissioned in the Territorial Army (TA), a citizen’s force of the Indian army which provides an opportunity to civilians to receive military training and also provides the country with a reserve force that can assist the regular army during operations. Mohanlal always had a fascination for the armed forces and wanted to join the army after college. Also he portrayed the roles of brave solider in movies such as `Kirti Chakra’ and `Kurukshetra’. He will be joining the 122 Infantry Battalion of Madras Regiment or `Kannur Terriers’ and he will visit his battalion and interact with the troops. He will also visit schools and colleges to meet youth and encourage them to join the Army. He is the third celebrity after cricketer Kapil Dev and actor Nana Patekar who were joined in the Territorial Army. Mohanlal is considered as the one of the most talented actors in India. He is an extraordinary actor who portrayed the comic and serious roles very easily in the films. His presentation of comedy and his effortless dialogue delivery give him many fans in all around the world. Also he is the three-time National Award winner and the Indian government honored him by giving “Padmashri award” for his contributions to the Indian cinema.

BIOGRAPHY

Super star Mohanlal was born on 21st May, 1960 in Pathanamthitta, Kerala as the son of a government employee Vishwanathan Nair and Santhakumari. He was grew up at Mudavanmugal, Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram and he gained his school education from local school at Mudavanmugal and from ‘Govt. Model Higher Secondary School’, Thiruvananthapuram. After that he gained his graduation in commerce from ‘Mahatma Gandhi College’, Thiruvanathapuram. He was started acting in school plays and won numerous best actor awards in his school and college days. He started his film career in 1978 with the film “Thiranottam” which was not success in the theater. He got the break in the films in 1980 at the age of 20 through the role of the villian in the film “Manjil Virinja Pookkal”. After that, he had never looked back. In 1983, he had acted in more than 25 films and his acting in the film “Uyarangalil” was critically acclaimed. The period 1986 - 1995 is widely considered as the golden age of Malayalam cinema and the young actor Mohanlal got many roles in that period. His role as an underworld don in “Rajavinte Makan” raised Mohanlal as one of the leading stars of Malayalam cinema. He was also acted in many good films including “T.P. Balagopalan M.A”, “Thalavattam”, “Sanmanassu Ullavarku Samadhanam”, “Panchagni”, “Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal”, “Gandhi Nagar 2nd street”, “Sarvakalasala “, “Nadodikkattu”,”Varavelpu”, “Chithram”, “Kilukkam” etc at that period. In the films “Chithram” and “Kilukkam, he played the role of typical Indian romantic hero which increased his popularity among the teenage movie lovers. He was also starred in “Thoovanathumbikal”, “Thazhvaram”, “Ulsavapittennu “, “Kireedam”, “Bharatham”, “His Highness Abdullah”, “Spadikam”, “Devaasuram”, “Thenmavin Kombath”, “Manichitrathazhu” etc were also notable films of him at that period. After 1996, he was considered as the unbeatable hero in movies. Movies like “Aaram Thamburan”, “Narasimham”, “Naran”, “Kanmadam”, “Guru “, “Vaanaprastham”, “Thanmathra”, etc were became blockbusters. He won National award for Best actor for his roles in the films “Bharatham” and “Vaanaprastham”. He was also acted in other language films including the Tamil film “Iruvar”, the Hindi films “Company” and “Ki Aag,” etc. Now he is starring in an Indo-japanese movie called Nairsan co-starring Jackie Chan. He is also producer of the films and produced many films including “His Highness Abdullah”, “Bharatham”, ” Kamaladalam”, “Harikrishnans”, Vanaprastham etc. He was also acted in many plays including “Karnabharam”, “Chayamukhi”, etc. He was also presented “Kadhayattam”, which depicting 10 unforgettable characters and situations selected from Malayalam literature. He is involved in many business ventures like Vismayas Max, film post production studio and college for dubbing artists at Kinfra film and video park, Pranavam arts Film Production Company, Pranamam, Film Distribution Company, MaxLab Entertainments , Partner and Director of Uni Royal Marine Exports, Restaurant chain in Dubai called Mohanlal’s Tastebuds, Restaurant in Bangalore named The Harbour Market, Partner of Mohanlal’s Tastebuds, chairman of JT PAC, world class Art performance center, Kochi. He is a keen collector of paintings and antiques and has a private art gallery at his home. He is married to Suchitra and they have two children, Pranav and Vismaya and now he settled in Madras with his family.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Mohanlal gained many awards and honors in his film career. He won “National Film Awards” for best actor for his roles in “Bharatham” and “Vanaprastham”. Also got “National Film Awards” for best film as producer of the film “Vanaprastham”. Also nominated for nine times for the “National Film Awards” for best actor category. He won “Kerala State Film Awards” for best actor for nine times, “Kerala Film Critics Awards” for best actor for six times, “Filmfare Awards” for best actor for nine times, “Mathrubhumi Awards” for five times, “Asianet Film Awards” for five times, “Vanitha Film Awards” for three times etc. He is also receipent of other awards including “Prem Nazir Award”, ” Mother Teresa Award”, ” M. G. Soman Award”, Natana Ratna Award”, “Chalachitra Ratna Award”, “KPCC Panampilli Prathibha Award”, “Pazhassi Raja Abhinaya Shreshta Award”, etc. Indian government honored him by giving “Padmashri award” for his contributions to the Indian cinema. Now he won the “Lieutenant Colonel” designation by the ‘Indian Territorial Army’. Mohanlal’s fans released a website titled “thecompleteactor.com” in respect of him.

UPDATES

Ace Malayalam actor Mohanlal has one more feather in his cap of awards. He has been chosen as the recipient of the ‘Sree Chithira Tirunal award’ for the year 2009. He will get a cash prize worth Rs. 100,000 along with a citation. This award is given by Sree Chithira Tirunal Trust as a tribute to former King of Travancore.
