LAKME FASHION WEEK 2009
Every person of India is now waiting for to know who are the new faces set to debut on this season’s Lakme Fashion Week ramp. Lakme Fashion Week 2009 was started on 18th September at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai and it will be ended on 22nd September 2009. This five-day event was organized by India’s No.1 cosmetics and beauty brand ‘Lakme’ and ‘IMG Fashion’, global leader in the management and production of fashion weeks and designer fashion events. ‘Gitanjali Lifestyle’ is this event’s associate sponsor and also has ten co-sponsors. This show is created with a vision to redefine the future of fashion and connect India into the global fashion world. In addition, this show introduced the Indian modern woman to the world of beauty through clothes. It is organized twice in every year. The works of 50 top designers of the country are displayed in this show. In these designers,six are from the GenNext category, two in the Emerging,four are accessory designers and 38 established designers showcasing their remarkable collections for buyers from India and countries like the US, France, Hong Kong, several in the Middle East and South Africa. Anamika Khanna, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani,Eina Ahluwalia, Imcha Imchen, Amalraj Sengupta, Arjun Agarwal is some famous designers are participating in this fashion event. Many young aspiring models like Sunny Kamble, Karishma Tanna, Bharat Arora, Lidia Souza, Siddharth Rawal will also walk in this Lakme Fashion Week ramp. The inaugural show of this event was called “Celebrating 10 years of Fashion”, themed as “then-now-forever” and grand finale will be themed on ‘Glamour’ and will be designed by the great designer Tarun Tahiliani.
