LAND ROVER FREELANDER 2

Land Rover Freelander 2 is a sports utility vehicle made by the British company Land Rover, a subsidiary of Tata Motors. This vehicle is launched in India. This vehicle is built in an upmarket compact lifestyle SUV. It will be available in three trims such as S, HS, HSE. It is available in two types engine versions. They are petrol v6 and a turbo charged four pot diesel. The v6 displaces 3200cc, putting out 230 bhp while the torque diesel is a 2.2 liter powerplant, with 40.8 kgm of torque and 158 bhp. Prices stands at Rs.33.8 lakh for the S version, Rs.39 lakh for the HS version and Rs.45 lakh for the HSE  version. Acceleration figures are 10.9 seconds for a 0-100 KPH run in the diesel. It has a better fuel economy than petrol.It will be powered by a 2.2-liter common rail diesel engine producing 158bhp@4000rpm and 400Nm@2000rpm. It includes a transversely placed engine. This vehicle features a terrain vehicle system. This system helps to increase or decrease the traction depending on the mode of driving such as cement or tarmac roads, grass or snow, mud and sand. This vehicle also got a 5-star Euro-NCAP rating for adult occupant protection. The freelander posses a warranty of 1,00,000km. The bi-xenon headlamps with auto-leveling beam adjusters are available as a standard feature in all the variants. It is available to choose from 11 exterior colors and an extensive range of upholstery and color combination. Freelander 2 has class leading breadth of capability, responsive on road, outstanding off road. Freeland 2 is the Land Rover’s most fuel efficient vehicles ever.

Land rover is based in Solihull, West Midlands, England, now functioned as part of the Jaguar Land Rover business owned by Tata Motors of India. They were coming in second to Jeep is one of the longest surviving four wheel drive brands. Land rover developed first as a marque, then as a separate company. The term Land Rover refers to one specific vehicle. The first Land rover was designed in 1948 in the United Kingdom. The early vehicles ,series 1 were field tested at Long Bennington and designed to be field serviced. On June 2007 Ford Motor Company announced its plan to sell Land Rover. On 1958 they launched series 11. Land Rover is used by the military forces in the World. Land Rover Experience consists of a network of centers throughout the world, set up to help customers get the most out of their vehicle’s on and off-road capability.

Now, India can be able to track marine life and identify potential fishing zones very easily. Today, the ‘Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)’ was successfully launched its ocean observation satellite “Oceansat 2″ with the help of its most trusted Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV C-14) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. PSLV placed seven satellites including ‘Oceansat 2′ in the orbit. Other six nano satellites including two German two Rubinsats Rubin 9.1 and Rubin 9.2, and four cubesats. The launch was carried out at 11.51am and ended at 12.06pm on today and this launch is ISRO’s first major satellite launch since Chandrayaan 1.

ABOUT OCEANSAT-2

“Oceansat-2″ satellite is India’s second remote Sensing satellites dedicated to ocean research. It is an improved version of the ‘Oceansat-1′which was launched in 1999. ‘Oceansat-1′used to study physical and biological aspects of oceanography, whereas ‘Oceansat-2′ is launched for identification of potential fishing zones, weather forecasting and other trends of the sea, coastal zone studies and providing inputs for general meteorological observations. Unlike ‘Oceansat-1, which mainly look at only the colour of the ocean, th ‘Oceansat-2′ can be able to look at surface winds and temperature among other things. It’s weight is 960kgs and it is carrying two devices,the ‘Ocean Colour Monitor’ and a ‘Microwave Scatterometer’. Ocean Color Monitor will help to identify potential areas for fishery and Microwave Scatterometer will help to track the onset of monsoon by measuring the wind speed over the surface of the ocean. Measurement of winds will help to predict the condition of the sea which will help ships navigating through the region. All data gathered will be available to the scientists from this satellite in six months. Hope that this satellite will  play an important role in forecasting the beginning of monsoon.
