DAVID BECKHAM

The officials of the Italian football club AC Milan is expecting that the famous English footballer David Beckham would rejoin their club Italian football club AC Milan on loan in January. Currently, Beckham is playing for American Major League Soccer club ‘Los Angeles Galaxy’ and the England national team. Beckham is interesting to return to AC Milan to increase his chances of being part of the England squad for the next World Cup.

BIOGRAPHY

David Beckham is the most popular football player in the world. He was born on 2nd May, 1975 in Leytonstone, London as the son of Ted and Sandra Beckham. He showed interest in football in his childhood. His parents were ‘Manchester United’ football club supporters, and he frequently see the home matches of this club with his parents. In his youth days, he was played for many football clubs. In 1991, he signed for Manchester United as a trainee and helped the club to win the ‘FA Youth Cup’ in 1992. In 1992, he made his first team debut as a substitute in the ‘Rumbelows Cup’ match against Brighton & Hove Albion. In a short period, Beckham established himself as United’s right-sided midfielder and helped the team to win the Premier League title and FA Cup. From 1992 - 2003 Beckham made almost 400 appearances for Manchester United and scored 85 goals. In addition, he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, one European Cup, one Intercontinental Cup, and one FA Youth Cup for this club. In 2003, he signed a four-year contract with the Spanish football club,’Real Madrid’. He was a not good performer in that club. On July 2007, he signed in an American professional soccer club, Los Angeles Galaxy. However, now expectations exist that Beckham would join the Italian football club AC Milan on loan in January 2010. He started his international career as a player of England national football team in 1996. He helped England to qualify for the ‘2002 FIFA World Cup’ Final and in that World Cup,he scored the winning goal of the match against Argentina with a penalty, causing Argentina to fail to qualify for the knockout stage. However, in the quarter final, England was knocked out by Brazil. He was the captain of the English national team from 2000 until 2006, when he stepped down from the role after a loss to Portugal in the World Cup quarterfinals. He is currently England’s most-capped outfield player with 114 appearances. His popularity increased, when he married Spice Girls star Victoria Adams in 1999.They have three sons and currently live in Beverly Hills, California. His popularity extended beyond the football field. He and his wife Victoria appeared in many advertisements. Beckham has many endorsement deals making him one of the most recognizable athletes throughout the world. He also involved in charitable works and also made cameo appearance in films.

RONALDINHO

The famous Brazilian Footballer Ronaldinho was awarded with ‘Golden foot 2009′. The ceremony is held at Monte carlo. The players over the age of 29 are only eligible for this great award. This award is given in honor with their personalities along with their personal achievements and those with their team. He also won the FIFA World Player award in 2004 and 2005. He is regarded as one of the most gifted footballers of his time. He plays for Italian Serie A side Milan and the Brazilian national team. He is also the winner of the Ballon d’.Or award . He joins the elite group of players by winning this award.

BIOGRAPHY

Ronaldinho was one of the famous Brazilian players, who have played at every international age level. He was born on March 21, 1980 in the city of Porto Alegre, capital of the Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil. His mother is Dona Miguelina a former salesperson who studied to become a nurse. His father, Joao, was a shipyard worker and footballer for lpcal club ‘Esporte Clube Cruzeiro’. He suffered a heart attack in the family swimming pool. His brother Roberto was also a good player but his career was ultimately short because of injury. He is married to Brazilian dancer Janaína Mendes, and he has a son also. At the early ages, he showed his talents in football. He developed an interest in futsal and beach football. At the age of thirteen he scored all 23 goals in 23-0 victory against a local team. He became famous with the 1997 U-17 World Championships in Egypt. His club career begins with the ‘Gremio youth’ squad under head coach ‘Liam Higgins’. He made his senior debut in 1998 ‘Copa Libertadores’. In 2001, Ronaldinho signed a five-year contract with French side ‘Paris saint-Germain’. He won his first league title in 2004-05 and was named as ‘FIFA World Player of the Year’ in 2004 and 2005. By the end of the season, he received many personal awards.  He won the inaugural ‘FIFPro World Player of the Year in 2005. In July 2008 he joined Italian Serie A giant Milan on a three year contract. He finished his first season with Milan with 10 goals from 32 appearances in all competitions. 1999 was a busy year for him. He played in the ‘1999 FIFA World Youth Championship’ and scored his first goal in the last group match. But Brazil is eliminated from this tournament in quarterfinals. He scored one goal in 1999 ‘Copa America campaign’. In 1999 Confederations Cup, he scored in every match except the final, including a hat-trick in an 8-2 semifinal rout of Saudi Arabia. But in the final he can’t score and the Brazil lost 4-3 to Mexico. He won the Golden Ball award for the best player in the tournament as well as the Golden Boot award for the tournament top-scorer. He also participated in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In this Olympics Brazil was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Cameroon. He participated in his first World cup in 2002. He played 5 matches and scored two goals. The first goal came in the group stage match against China, which Brazil won 4-0. The second goal was a match-winning goal in the quarterfinal against England. But he was suspended for the semifinal. In the final Brazil defeated Germany by the score 2-0, and they won the World Cup for the fifth time. In 2003 confederations cup, he performed poorly, and he was eliminated from the 2004 Copa America squad. He captained the Confederations Cup title in 2005 and was named Man of the Match in a 4-1 victory over Argentina in the final. In 2006 World cup was marked as the worst performance in his career. The team was harshly criticized by Brazilian fans and media following their return home. On 7 July 2008, he was named to Brazil’s 2008 Summer Olympics squad as one over-age players. He scored only two goals in 5-0 victory over New Zealand before Brazil was beaten by Argentina in the semifinal. Brazil finished with the bronze medal after defeating Belgium 3-0 in the bronze medal match. He is known to be a famous footballer in the world.

He also achieved several individual honors. He became the ‘Fifa Confederations Cup Top Scorer’ in 1999, ‘Fifa Confederations Cup Golden Ball in 1999,’Rio Grande do Sul State Championship Top Scorer’, ‘Fifa World Cup 2002 All-Star team in 2002, and ‘Fifa 100′. He receives ‘Don Baln Award’ for the best Foreign Player in La Liga in 2004, 2006 and EFE Trophy for the Best Ibero-American Player in La Liga in 2004. He became the ‘Fifa World Player’ of the Year 2004 and 2005. He also receives ‘European Footballer of the Year’ award in 2005. He was the ‘FifPro World Player’ of the Year in  2005 and 2006. He also gained ‘UEFA Club Footballer of the Year’ in 2005-06, ‘UEFA Team of the Year’ in 2004, 2005, 2006, and ‘FifPro World XI’in 2005, 2006, 2007.
