The king of pop, Michael Jackson is still entertaining the whole world through the movie “This is it”. Michael Jackson’s ‘This is it’ movie is a American concert film which reports on stage and behind the scenes rehearsals of Michael Jackson’s concert series titled “This is it”. This film shows the training of Jackson and his team for 50 shows of the London concert. The London concert series is planned for July and Jackson consider it as a return to the limelight after years of life as a monk and a final farewell to live performance. But he was died on June due to cardiac arrest. Michael Jackson’s creative partner and the director of the stage show, Kenny Ortega was directed this film and producer is Paul Gongaware and Randy Phillips. This film is distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures and it was released on 28th October 2009.

ABOUT MOVIE

Michael Jackson’s ‘This is it’ movie shows the rehearsals of Michael Jackson’s London concert series titled “This is it” which is planned for July. This film open with a short introduction stating the purpose of this film and the testimonials of singers and dancers who were chosen by Jackson for his London concert series. Then shown the rehearsals of Jackson’s songs. First he began with solo song “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” joined by dancers. Then this two-hour film features Jackson singing and dancing to some of his biggest hits, including “Beat It,” “Thriller,” “Black or White” and “Man in the Mirror.” The film ends with Jackson with his arms extended on stage with the message: “Michael Jackson King of Pop Love Lives Forever”. Through this movie, the people of entire world got an opportunity to see the talent of that extra ordinary pop king Michael Jackson. Jackson attracted the hearts of all people through his voice and moves. Though he was died, but that legend lives on this film.

Michael Jackson’s ‘This is it’ movie got many postive reviews from the people in all around the world. Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson was thrilled with this movie and he commented that Michael’s performance is great in this movie. Brother Jackie Jackson also loves this movie and commented that it’s Michael at his best and it is wonderful to see him onstage.Famous Hollywood actress and Michael’s good friend Elizabeth Taylor commented that this movie is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking that she had ever seen. Some other people commented that this movie is a perfect tribute to that legendary pop king who attracted the world with his professional dance moves and versatile vocals as well as his strange appearance and legal troubles. Some fans of Jackson are prohibiting this movie, because they consider it is not a true depiction of Michael’s final days. They formed a group titled ‘This Is Not It’ to protest against this movie. Over all, this is a good movie to know about that pop king Michael Jackson.

Famous Indian badminton player Anup Sridhar reached the main draw of the Yonex French Super Series at the  Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris. The consecutive win in the qualifying round and made it easily to the main draw. The Indian will challenge the top seed Chinese player Lin Dan in the main draw.  The other Indian Jayaram won his first match against French Mathieu Lo Ying Ping by 21-7, 21-15 in 21 minutes but lost to Christian Lind-Thomsen of Denmark by 24-26, 14-21 in a 42-minute battle.

BIOGRAPHY

Anup Sridhar is a male badminton player from India.He was born on April 11, 1983 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He received his basic education at the St. Joseph’s Boys High School. Further, he earned a degree in B.Com. from Sai Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore. He started playing the game of Badminton at an early age, and the first tournament that he won was the Canara Bank tournament held at Indiranagar, Bangalore. He received advanced training in Badminton at the TATA Padukone Badminton Academy, Bangalore. He won the National Badminton Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He is India’s Thomas Cup Captain. His best year so far was 2007 during which he ended the year as the top Indian badminton player with a ranking of 25. His highest ranking is 24, and it was achieved in early 2008. His most famous win was over Taufik Hidayat, who was the former world no.1 gold medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics and  2005 World Champion at the World Championships in what was one of the longest matches of the tournament.He reached the semi finals at the German open and the Asian Badminton championships and the quarterfinals at the Thailand open and at the 2007 world championships. His performance at the world championships was rated among the top 10 Indian sporting performances of 2007. He started the year 2008 by winning the prestigious Pramod Mahajan All-India’s ranking tournament in New Delhi. He also reached the pre- quarterfinals , one round better than last year, of the Proton Malaysia Super Series where he lost to Hyun Il Lee. He also participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He defeated Marco Vasconcelos of Portugal in the round of 64 by 21-16, 21-14. But in round of 16, he lost to Shoji Sato of Japan by 13-21, 17-21. He is an employee of Bharat Petrolium and is currently sponsored by SLK Software. Currently he is ranking number 30. Prakash Padukone, U. Vimal Kumar,and Tom John were his coaches.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Anup received many awards in his career.To make honorable mention of his excellence in the sport of Badminton and his  achievements in the game, Government of India honored Anup Sridhar with the prestigious Arjuna Award in the year 2007. Apart from it, he was also awarded with the Eklavya Award in the year 2004 and the Rotary-Brigade “Special Prize” Young Achievers Award in the year 2008.
