This film is written and directed by Roland Emmerich, who made mega successful films such as “Independence Day,” “Godzilla” and “The Day After Tomorrow”. John Cusack, Chjwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt is the main characters of this film. This film will be hit on the box office on 13th November, 2009.

The story of the movie “2012″ merges the idea of the Mayan calendar, which predicts the world ending in 2012 with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers. Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) is an aspiring novelist and, he divorced from his wife Kate Curtis (Amanda Peet). Their two children Noah (Liam James) and Lily (Morgan Lily) live with Kate along with her new boyfriend, Gordon (Thomas McCarthy). One day, Jackson Curtis pick up his children from their mother to take them on a camping trip in Yellowstone National Park. On their trip, Jackson meets Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson) who believed in Mayan’s prediction. Over the coming days vast cracks are found within the fault lines in California. Then Jackson ran to Kate’s home to save himself and his family from this disaster by hiring a private plane. Jackson then contacts with Charlie and runs off with his daughter towards Charlie’s van. However, Charlie left his van and informed Jackson that he has decided to go into the mountains to watch the threatening disasters. Jackson decided to find Charlie and escape him. However, Charlie refused to leave the mountain, and he told the Jackson that he has a map in his van that will provide information concerning a possible escape route. Because the volcanoes erupt behind him, Charlie heads back towards the plane. Jackson finds himself on a dangerous race as the large chunks of boulders strike the ground nearby. Upon his arrival, his daughter charges out of the van into the plane, but Jackson remains in the van to search for the map. When he finds the map, van falls into a gap. However, Jackson escaped and entered in the plane. Mean while the disaster spread in all over the world. Tsunami hits in many cities. Jackson and family fly into China. On the way, they have to face many difficulties and many people helped them to overcome the disaster. At last when the disaster ends, they reached in Cape of Good Hope in South Africa and decided that it is a good place to lead a normal life. This film has created a lot of curiosity among the people, whether 2012 is the end of the world. Hope that this film will be hit on the box office in coming days.
