American actress and humanitarian activist Eva Longoria Parker was honored for her dedication to social causes. She was selected as the ‘philanthropist of the year’ by ‘Hollywood Reporter’ magazine. Eva Longoria Parker is a very famous TV artist who is well known for her role of Isabella Brana Williams on the CBS soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’. Currently, she plays the role of ‘Gabrielle Solis’ in the ABC television series ‘Desperate Housewives’. She is also famous for her charity works. BIOGRAPHY
Eva Longoria Parker was born on 15th March, 1975 in a poor family of Corpus Christi, Texas. She gained her school education from ‘Marvin P. Baker Middle School’ and ‘Roy Miller High School’. She also gained Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from ‘A&M University’ in Kingsville. After graduation, she entered in a talent contest that brought her to Los Angeles, where she was spotted and subsequently signed by a theatrical agent. Her television career started in 2000 as guest role in “Beverly Hills, 90210″. She also appeared in the television series “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital”. But she gained more popularity for her role of ‘Isabella’on the popular series, “The Young and the Restless”. Now she plays the role of ‘Gabrielle Solis’ in the world hit series ‘Desperate Housewives’. She was nominated for a ‘Golden Globe award’ for performance of this series. Her first appearance in the theatrical movie was in a thriller movie ‘The Sentinel’. She appeared in many times in ‘Hollywood’s Most Beautiful’ list and appeared as model for many magazines. She also has a contract with L’Oreal and Magnum Ice-Cream. In addition, she is also part of Microsoft’s “I’m A PC” ad campaign. She is also famous for her charitable works. She founded ‘Eva’s Heroes’, a charity which provides an after-school programme for children with developmental disabilities. This actress is also a spokeswoman for ‘Parents Against Cancer’, which aims to improve the lives of families of Latino children with cancer. She is married to twice. Firslty, she married to actor Tyler Christopher in 2002 and they divorced in 2004. Then, she married to basketball player Tony Parker in 2007.
