52ND GRAMMY AWARDS
Now the music lovers are waiting for to see who will be the winners of the world’s most prestigious music award titled “Grammy Awards”. The 52nd Grammy awards will take place on 31st January, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The nominations of these awards were announced in a live television special called “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night”. The famous pop singer Beyonce Knowles reached in the top position in the nomination list with 10 nominations including ‘Album of the Year’ for “I Am…Sasha Fierce,” ‘Record of the Year’ for “Halo” and ‘Song of the Year’ for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Taylor Swift reached behind the Beyonce with 8 nominations including ‘Album of the Year’ for “Fearless,” and ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’. The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye gained six nominations. Lady Gaga and rapper Jay-Z won five nominations.

ABOUT GRAMMY AWARDS
Grammy awards are the world’s most prestigious music awards given annually by the ‘National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ of the United States for outstanding achievements in the music industry. The Grammy Awards were first presented in 1959. The winners of these awards are selected from more than 25 fields which cover the generations such as pop, rock, country, reggae, classical, and jazz, as well as production and post-production work, including packaging and album notes. In addition, four general awards are also given for record, album, song of the year and best new artist. More than 100 awards will be given and the winners will receive a golden statuette of a gramophone.

All Indian music lovers were very happy, because their favorite music composer A.R. Rahman gained two Grammys for his music from the Oscar-winning film “Slumdog Millionaire”.Last year, he won the two Oscars for his music in “Slumdog Millionaire”. The Recording Academy honored the late king of pop Michael Jackson with a tribute during the Grammy telecast. It featured a 3D mini movie based on his song and give a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to him.
