Accer is a Taiwan based multinational electronics manufacturer whose products are desktops, laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), servers and storage, computer peripherals etc. It employs 5400 people throughout the world and has created a consolidated sales and service network in more than 100 countries. It is considered as the third largest computer manufacturer in the world after HP and Dell. Accer’s orginal name was “Multitech” and it was founded by Stan Shih and his wife Carolyn Yeh in 1976. In 1987, Multitech was renamed as “Accer” and its head quarters is located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The mission of this company is to break the barriers between people and technology. Primarily, it was the distributor of electronic parts and a consultant in the use of microprocessor technologies, and now it grows as the third largest computer manufacturer in the world. In 1997, Accer purchased Texa’s Instrument laptop division, and now it grows as the world’s second-largest laptop manufacturer. Accer’s this purchase helped Accer to expand into new areas of technology in the desktops. They incorporate some features of laptops including smaller screens and a smaller size into their desktops. Assam people are now looking for peace after the arrest of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa. Arabinda Rajkhowa is one of the founder members of ULFA, a separatist group from Assam which aims to create an independent homeland in Assam via an armed struggle in Assam. Rajkhowa was arrested in Bangladesh on Monday. Bangladesh security agencies handed over Arabinda Rajkhowa along with 10 others including his wife and two children to India’s Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday.

BIOGRAPHY

Arabinda Rajkhowa was born in 1956 Ujoni Konwargaon, Sibsagar, Assam to a freedom fighter Umakanta Rajkonwar and Damayanti Rajkonwar. His real name is Rajib Rajkonwar. He is married to Kaveri Kachari and they have two children. He studied till the class 12 and he made the leader of a radical students’ group titled ‘Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP)’. In 1979, Rajkhowa and four others founded United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), a separatist group from Assam which aims to create an independent homeland in Assam via an armed struggle in Assam. Indian Government banned this group and named it as a terrorist group. Rajkhowa was popularly known in the group as ‘Sir’ or ‘Chairman Sir’. In 1980, ULFA’s image got strike violently when this group killed businessmen and individuals. In 1990, a military operation named ‘Operation Bajrang’ was launched against ULFA with the Army removing its main base in the Lakhipathar forests in Tinsukia district. But ULFA continued to strike its targets on security forces and selected individuals. After the operation in 1990, Rajkhowa and others left Assam and took shelter in Bhutan. After the operation titled ‘Operation All Clear’ by Bhutan, the ULFA leaders were forced to take shelter in Bangladesh. Since 1997, Rajkhowa is sought by Interpol on various charges of murder, kidnappings, and fraud. He was arrested in Bangladesh on 30th November 2009 and Bangladesh security agencies handed over him along with 10 others to India on 4th December 2009. Rajkhowa expressed his desire to engage peace talks with the central government after his arrest. Hope that Rajkhowa’s arrest will end the violence, terror and bomb blasts which was lasted nearly 30 years in Assam.
