YUVRAJ SINGH
It is the bad time of Indian cricket player Yuvraj Singh, because he will be removed from the captain of the ‘Kings XI Punjab’ team for the third season of Indian Premier League. Yuvraj Singh captained the ‘Kings XI Punjab’ team in the first two seasons of the IPL. In the first season, his team performed very well after the losing of first two games and reached in the semifinals of the IPl tournament. In the second season, his team finished at fifth position. The reason for removal of Yuvraj Singh from the captaincy post is that Yuvraj’s attitude towards team’s management. He continuously ignored some of the important decisions of management . Reports that Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara may lead the Kings XI Punjab in place of Yuvraj Singh in the third season of IPL.
BIOGRAPHY
India’s explosive batsman Yuvraj Singh was born on 12th December, 1981 in Chandigarh, India as the son of a famous father. His father Yograj Singh was a former Indian fast bowler and Punjabi movie star. Yuvraj Singh started playing cricket at an early age as the captain of the ‘Under-19 Cricket team of Punjab’. He gained attention when he scored 358 runs against Bihar Under-19 Cricket team in the final match of Cooch-Behar Trophy in 1999. After that, he was selected in ‘Under-19 National Cricket team’ and participated in ‘Under-19 World Cup Cricket tournament’ in 2000. He started his ODI career with a match against Kenya in 2000 and started the test cricket career with a match against New Zealand in 2003. In his second ODI against Australia, he scored 84 off 82 balls, and he was helped India to win ‘NatWest Series trophy’ by defeating England in 2002. In his ODI career, he played 244 matches and scored 12 centuries. In his test career, he played 30 matches and gained 3 centuries. In addition to the left handed batsman, he is also a left arm orthodox spinner and a good fielder of the Indian cricket team. He gained 78 ODI wickets and 8 test wickets for India. Yuvraj Singh is also a player of India’s Twenty20 cricket team. He is famous for having hit 6 sixes in one over bowled by Stuart Broad during a Twenty-20 matches against England in the 2007 World Twenty-20 Cricket tournament. In this match, he gained fastest fifty ever in Twenty20 game, and it was also the fastest in any form of international cricket. In addition, he became the fourth cricket player who hit six sixes in a over in senior cricket. He is also the icon player and captain for IPL team Kings XI Punjab. Under his leadership, this team reached in the semi final of the first season of IPL. In the second season of IPL, his team finished at fifth position. He is the two time hat-trick winner of T20 cricket. He gained a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers. Overall, he grows into the indivisible player of the Indian cricket team with his explosive batting, good bowling and fielding.
