TATA SUMO GRANDE MKII



India’s largest automobile company ‘Tata Motors’ is going to regain its position in the domestic utility vehicle market with their new multi-utility vehicle named ‘Tata Sumo Grande MkII’. It is the upgraded version of Tata’s popular multi-utility vehicle ‘Sumo Grande’. This new model offers better riding and driving comforts through its modified interior and the exterior features. It’s exteriors include a new front grille, grab handle for the third row passengers, turn-indicators integrated into the outside rear-view mirrors and a range of new colors. Dual-tone interiors include upgraded trim materials. It’s 2.2-litre common-rail diesel engine, which produces 119 horsepower and 250Nm of torque is very capable of long distance journeys. This new vehicle will be available in three variants- Gx, Ex and Lx with a seating capacity ranging between seven and nine seats. The price of this is in the range of Rs 6.43 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh. In future, it will compete with other multi-utility vehicles like Mahindra and Mahindra’s Xylo, Scorpio and Bolero.

Tata Motors is a largest car manufacturing company in India. It is the second largest in the passenger vehicle’s segment and also stands fifth in the heavy automaker in the world. It was initially known by the name of TELCO, Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company. Tata Motors is a part of the Tata and Sons Group founded by Jamshedji Nussarwanji Tata and J. Baker . It was established in 1945. It ventured into commercial vehicles in 1954 having entered into a partnership with Daimler-Benz AG in Germany. In 1998, the company was created a new car called ‘Tata Indica’. It was India’s first fully indigenous passenger car. In September 2004, the company was listed in the New York Stock Exchange. Tata Motors provides its products and services on a global basis. In India, it provides products and services in five categories such as passenger cars, commercial passenger carriers, utility vehicles, defense vehicles and trucks. In passenger cars section it offers Indica Vista, Indigo XL, Indica V2, Indigo, Indica V2 Turbo, Indigo Marina, Indica V2 Xeta, Indigo CS, Indica V2 Dicor and Fiat Cars. In utility vehicle’s section, it offers Safari Dicor, Sumo and Sumo Grande. Today, Tata Motors had made a history in manufacturing field because it produced world’s cheapest car ‘Tata Nano’ with price of Rs. 1 lakh. Tata Motors had won a number of awards. In 2004, Tata Motors got itself listed on the NYSE and won the ‘CII-Exim Bank award’ in 2005. In 2006, Tata Motors had been recognized as the greatest brand in automobiles in India and also been conferred with title of ‘Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer’ of 2006. TRAKIT of Tata Motors had won silver award for ‘Excellence in Design’. Tata Motors Pune -CVBU had won “Golden Peacock National Quality Award”. Tata Motors received four esteemed awards at ‘CNBC TV18 – Autocar Auto Awards’. It won NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award 2008. It was conferred with EEPC’s Top Exporter Trophy. It had received ‘Uptime Champion Award’ in 2007 and ‘National Award’ for Excellence in Cost Management.
