67TH GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS

The whole world is anxiously waiting for knowing the winners of ‘67th Golden Globe Awards’. On 15th December, the nominees for the ‘67th annual Golden Globe Awards’ were announced in Beverly Hills, Calif. The film “Up in the Air” directed by Jason Reitman reached first in the nomination list with six Golden Globe nominations. This film bagged nominations in ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Screenplay’, ‘Best Supporting Actress’. The story of this film is about an executive person traveling across the country as he fires people from downsizing companies. The famous actor George Clooney is the main actor of this movie. Musical move “Nine” reached in second with five nominations including ‘Best Music’, ‘Best Comedy’, ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’. James Cameron’s science fiction movie “Avatar” received four nominations including ‘Best Drama’ and ‘Best Director’. The 67th Golden Globe award ceremony will be held 17th January Sunday at Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. British actor Ricky Gervais is the host of this ceremony and so get ready for watching this biggest celebration of Hollywood.

GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS

‘Golden globe awards’ are given annually to those people who proved their talent in the film and television field. It was given by ‘Hollywood Foreign Press Association’ (HFPA) and award ceremony held in January of every year. The 1st Golden Globe Award ceremony was held in January 1944 in Los Angeles. This biggest Hollywood celebration telecasted in more than 150 countries worldwide, and it is the third most-watched awards show behind Oscars and the Grammy Awards. These awards are based on critical reviews and the winners are selected by the heads of entertainment.

All the expectations of movie lovers were ended. The winners of the ‘67th Golden Globe awards’ were announced at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on 17th January,2010. The ceremonies were hosted by Ricky Gervais. There were a few surprises in this announcement of awards. Famous director James Cameron’s much anticipated 3D sci-fi epic “Avatar” and “The Hangover’” were the big winners in this award ceremony “Avatar” was selected as ‘Best film drama’ and the “The Hangover’” gained ‘Best comedy picture’ award.
