82ND ACADEMY AWARDS, 2010

Academy Award or Oscar Award is one of the most honorary award in the film industry of the world. These awards are given by ‘Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’, California in the most famous award ceremony . Now, all the movie lovers in the world is eagely waiting to knew the winners of this year’s prestigious Oscar award. The nominees for the ‘82nd Academy Awards’ were announced on 2nd February, 2010 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California. This is the first time that ten movies are nominated for ‘Best Picture’ category. The big-budget science-fiction movie “Avatar” and war movie “The Hurt Locker” were reached in the nomination list by gaining ten nominations including ‘Best Picture’ category. Other pecularity of this nomination list is that ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron and his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow who is the director of ‘Hurt Locker’ is competing for ‘Best Director’ category. The people of India are unhappy, because their previous year’s double Oscar award winnner music maestro AR Rahman is not included in this year’s nomination list. Rahman’s song ‘Na na’ from the film “Couples Retreat” has failed to bag a nomination in the original song category for the Academy Awards. It is the 82nd Annual Academy Award ceremony and the winners will be announced on the ceremony on 7th March 2010 at the ‘Kodak Theatre’ in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
