World’s largest automakers ‘Toyota Motors’ is now ready to launch their small car ‘Etios’ in Indian markets. This beautiful compact car is recently unveiled at the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo last month in Delhi, and it is specifically developed for the Indian market. It is powered by diesel 1.4 Litre and Petrol 1.3 or 1.2L Engine. Engines are specifically designed for Indian conditions, so it produces high mileage. This new car will be available in both four(sedan) and five(hatchback) door variants. In addition, it has a spacious interior with plentiful storage space, and offers smooth and powerful driving as well as very good fuel-efficiency. It will feature limited sound-proofing, Durable interior, Basic seats and one windscreen wiper. So we can get this car at affordable price. The price of the Etios hatchback variant is expected to be 5 to 7.5 lakhs and the Etios Sedan variant is expected to be 6.75 to 8.5 lakhs. This beautiful car is mainly aimed for middle class customers in India, and it will give strong competition to popular small cars like Maruti Swift, Ritz, Fiat Punto, Chevy Beat and Ford Figo in the future. Hope that this car will be launching in Indian markets at the end of 2010.

HASHIM AMLA

South African player Hashim Amla’s first double century helped South Africa to build a huge total in their first innings of the first test against India. With the help of Hashim Amla’s unbeaten 253 runs, South Africa declared their first innings with 558 runs for six wickets. By winning this double century, Amla became the second South African batsman to score a double century against India. It was not Amla’s first best performance against India. He gained unbeaten 159 runs in a test against India in 2008.

BIOGRAPHY

South Africa’s right-handed batsman Hashim Amla was born in a Muslim family on 31st March, 1983 in Durban, Natal, South Africa. He is the first South African player of Indian descent. His grandparents were from Gujarat state of India and migrated into South Africa many years ago. His elder brother, Ahmed is also a professional cricketer. Amla started his cricket career by playing for provincial team ‘KwaZulu Natal Dolphins’. After that, he was selected as captain of South Africa at the ‘2002 Under-19 Cricket World Cup’. Under his leadership, the team reached in the final. At the age of 21, he started his international career in cricket. His first match was against India in 2004. In the initial days, his performance was not good and gained everybody’s attention by gaining 149 runs against New Zealand in 2006. After that, Amla made his position in the South African team strong through his wonderful batting performance. In 2008, he scored an unbeaten 159 against India and gained many centuries against England and Australia. Amla helped South Africa to win a historic Test and one day series victory over Australia and a victory over England in 2009. In 2009, he was also played for English county club ‘Essex’, and he gained two centuries in two Championship matches. Now, he gained unbeaten 253 runs against India, which was his best and the highest score by a South African at number 3 position and the highest by a South African against India. He is also an occasional medium-pace bowler and a player of Twenty/20 matches of South African team.
