GENEVA MOTOR SHOW, 2010

All auto enthusiastic is now looking for ‘Geneva Motor Show, 2010′ which was started on today at the Geneva Palexpo, a convention center in Genva, Switzerland. This show will end on 14th March, 2010. It is the 80th edition of the ‘Geneva Motor Show’ and it is considered as the first major European Motor Show of this year.It features world and European premieres of cars and accessories. Expectation is that over 80 new car models and many car concepts of famous automobile manufacturers are to be introduce in this show. 33 new cars are ready to launch in the opening day of this show. Many auto manufacturers will introduce new eco-friendly car models including electric cars and hybrid vehicles. The famous auto maker ‘Nissan Motors’ unveiled their fourth generation compact car ‘Micra’ in this show. Tata introduced its Nano Electric model for the European customers. ‘Nissan Juke’, ‘Nissan Navara’, ‘Nissan Pathfinder’, ‘Nissan Qashqai’, ‘Opel Meriva’, ‘Pagani Zonda Tricolore’, ‘Porsche 911 Turbo S’, ‘Porsche Cayenne’, ‘Renault Megane Convertible’, ‘Renault Twingo CC’, ‘Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion’, ‘Volkswagen CrossPolo’, ‘Volkswagen Touareg’, ‘Volvo S60′, ‘Mitsubishi ASX’, ‘Audi A1′, ‘Audi RS5′, ‘Alfa Romeo Giulietta’, ‘Ferrari 599 Hybrid’,  ‘Novitec Rosso Race 848′, ‘Mansory Rolls Royce Ghost’, ‘AC Schnitzer BMW 5 GT’, ‘Alpina B3S’, ‘Brabus Mercedes-Benz E V12 Coupe’, ‘Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera’, ‘NLV Solar Quant’, ‘Protoscar Lampo 2 and the ‘Sportec SPR1 R’ are some new car models which will be unveile in this greatest motor event. In addition, many auto manufacturers and independent design companies will present new and existing concepts to the public. Some concepts are ‘Bertone Concept Car’, ‘Bufori MKVI’, ‘Italdesign-Guigiaro Concept’, ‘Pininfarina Concept’, ‘Honda 3R-C’ and ‘Zagato’. .

ABOUT GENEVA MOTOR SHOW

Geneva motor show is an international motor show held in every March of the year in Geneva, Switzerland. It is organised by the ‘International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’, a federation of automobile manufacturers. The first show was held in 1905 and in that show, all major internal combustion engined models along with benzene- and steam-powered cars were showcased. Prototypes, new equipment, technical breakthroughs, international partnerships, as well as political and social debates, have been announced at the exhibition. This show is really a platform for the world’s automakers to showcase their latest vehicles.

Pakistan’s former captain and fast bowler Waqar Younis is now taking another responsibility, because he has been appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. Younis replaced Intikhab Alam from the coach post and he became the fourth coach of the Pakistan team in three years and his stint will last until the 2011 World Cup. He has also worked as the bowling coach of the Pakistan team twice.

BIOGRAPHY

Pakistan’s fast bowler Waqar Younis Maitla was born on 16th November, 1971 in Vehari, Punjab, Pakistan. He gained school education from ‘Sadiq Public School’ in Bahawalpur, Pakistan and also gained college education from ‘Pakistani College’ in Sharjah and ‘Government College’ in Vehari. His cricket career started in a match against India in 1989 and he gained four wickets in that match. After that, he gained everybody’s attention through his pace bowling and he became the feared bowler of all batsmen. He was best known for his ability to reverse swing a cricket ball at high speed and he became known in the cricket media as “Wiki” or the “Burewala Express”. Younis opened the Pakistan bowling attack with Wasim Akram in the 1990s and their partnership is considered as one of the most effective fast bowling partnerships in cricket. Younis was also efficient in the use of bouncers or short pitch deliveries. He hold the record of highest strike rate of all time among the bowlers with 200 or more wickets. He is the only bowler to have taken 5 wicket hauls in 3 consecutive One Day International matches. He gained 373 Test wickets and 416 One Day International wickets during his career. In 2000, he stayed out of the Pakistan team due to the controversial conflicts with his bowling partner and captain Wasim Akram. However, he returned into the team and was taken the post of captain of the team. He remained in that post, until his team failed to make an impact in the ‘2003 World Cup’. Younis was forced to retire from the Pakistan cricket team, because the Pakistan Cricket Board continuously ignored him for national selection. He was appointed as the bowling coach for Pakistan in 2006 and 2009. Now, he has been appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. Now, he lives in Kellyville, in North-Western Sydney, Australia with his wife and with a son and two daughters ..
