CHALLENGER SERIES

Challengers Series is a short tournament of 4 one day matches.Now the cricket fans in India looking for this challenger series 2009-10. NKP Salve Challenger Trophy starts from 1994-95 introduced by BCCI. It is an annual day night one day tournament. This tournament mainly aims on showcasing the talent that the country has. This tournament also provides a big opportunity to the young players. It is played in October. From 1998-99 this tournament is known as NKP Salve Challenger Trophy. It is named in honor to the former BCCI President NKP Salve, who brought the World cup to the country in 1987. This tournament is not played in 2002-03 season. This tournament is played between three teams including 36 Indian players. The 2005-06 season is more featured because of the return of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. In this tournament India Seniors have won 7 times including the 2005-06 edition.

CHALLENGER SERIES 2009-10

Challenger series 2009-10 will be expected to be one of the great cricket events in the coming days.India’s best cricket talents play each other for this season. The tournament will take place in Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium,Nagpur. The tournament starting from 8th October till 11th October. There are three teams named India Red team,India Green Team and India Blue team play each in this tournament. Yuvraj Singh will captain the India Red team, Suresh Raina will lead the India Green team and India Blue team will be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This tournament is a curtain raiser for the coming India - Australia ODIs.  Sachin Tendulkar will not play in the N K P Salve Challenger Series. Injured Yuvraj Singh will also not be seen in the tournament.
