Conservative Party is returned into power in United Kingdom after the 13 years of Labour Party rule. The youthful leader of conservative party, David Cameron was appointed as the new Prime Minister of UK on Tuesday after the resignation of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The Conservatives won most seats in a parliamentary election last week but fell short of a majority. Then after the days of uncertainty , the Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg agreed to give support to Cameron and they aimed to form Britain’s first full coalition government since 1945. Nick Clegg will be appointed as the Deputy Prime minister of UK. Forty three year old Cameron is became the youngest British Prime Minister of England in almost 200 years.

BIOGRAPHY

David Cameron was born on 9th October 1966 in a wealthy family in London, UK as the son of stockbroker Ian Donald Cameron and  Mary Fleur Mount. He is a direct descendant of King William IV and his mistress Dorothea Jordan. He was educated at Eton and Brasenose College, Oxford and he gained graduation in Politics, Philosophy and Economics with a first class from Oxford University. After the graduation, he worked for the Conservative Party in their research department from 1988 to 1992 and he became a Special Advisor in the Treasury and at the Home Office. In 1994, Cameron joined the media company ‘Carlton Communications’ as director of corporate affairs. He stayed at Carlton until entering Parliament in 2001 as MP for Witney, northwest of London and quickly attracted attention as the leading member of the Conservatiion party. After just two years as an MP, Cameron was appointed as the leading Conservative spokesman in the House of Commons. In 2005 General election, Cameron was elected as the leader of the Conservative Party. Under his leadership, the party grew in popularity and placed first in the 2006 local elections. His leadership style sometimes compared as the style of Labor party leader and former Prime minister of UK, Tony Blair. In ‘2010 general election’, Cameron led the Conservative party won 306 seats, but still 20 seats short of an overall majority. Then he talks with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg about the possibility of a coalition between the two parties. Nick Clegg agreed to form a coalition government and David Cameron was appointed as the new Prime Minister of UK. Nick Clegg will be appointed as the Deputy Prime minister of the nation. Cameron is married to Samantha Gwendoline Sheffield and they had three children.

Bollywood’s veteran writer and director Govind Moonis passed away on 5th May due to throat cancer. He was at the age of 81. Monnis also showed his talent as dialogue writer and lyricist.

BIOGRAPHY

Govind Moonis was born on 2nd January, 1929 in the village Pasakhera in Unnao district of UP. He studied at Kanpur. He started his literary career in 1947 by publishing his short story in the Sunday edition of Dainik Veerbharat of Kanpur. After that, he wrote many articles, short stories and translations in many famous newspapers and periodicals. In 1950, he started his film career as an assistant to the famous filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak with the film “Nagarik”. In 1953,  he came to Mumbai and worked as assistant to Satyen Bose and went on to work with him as a dialogue-screenplay writer and occasionally as a lyricist. “Jagriti”, “Bandish”, “Masoom”, “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi”, “Dosti”, “Aasra”, “Mere Lal”, “Raat Aur Din”, “Aansoo”, “Ban Gaye Phool” and “Jeewan Mrityu” are the films in which Moonis and Satyen Bose were worked together. For the film “Dosti”, Moonis gained ‘Filmfare Award’ as Best Dialogue writer. In addition, he has also wrote dialogues for the film “Uphaar” and directed the film “Nadiya Ke Paar”. He directed other films such as a one Bhojpuri film,”Mitwa”, “Sasural”, “Bandhan Baahon Ka”, “Babul” and “Raag Anuraag”. His last film as dialogue writer is Dil Churaya Apne, which is yet to be released and the last film directed by Govind Moonis is a Bhojpuri film,”Ganga Jaisan Pawan Piritiya Hamar”. Moonis was also involved in social and cultural activities. He was one of the founder members and president of social and cultural organization, Pragati.
