WILLS INDIA FASHION WEEK SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Indians are waiting for that greatest event where the best of India’s fashion industry brought together on a common platform. That means, all are waiting for the India’s biggest fashion trade event titled ‘Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2010′, which will be held from October 24 - 28, 2009 in the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It is the 14th edition of ‘Wills India Fashion Week(WIFW)’, and it is organized by ‘Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI)’. This fashion week acted as a medium for the fashion designers and young professionals associated with the fashion industry in India to display their virtue and earn for themselves a name among the people. In addition, it is a successful platform that brings together the best of designers, buyers from India and overseas and provides industry professionals the opportunity to form trade links within India and western countries. 110 fashion designers will display the very best of Indian fashion in this 14th edition of WIFW. The famous Indian fashion designers such as Tarun Tahilliani, Ashish Soni, Suneet Varma, Ritu Beri and Rohit Bal are returning to WIFW after a gap of several years. The Mumbai fashion designers Wendell Rodricks and Narendra Kumar are also showcase at this WIFW. Aslam Khan, Jaya Rathore, Nalandda Bhandari, Nimirta Lalwani, Rahul Mishra, Tanvi Kedia, Vineet Bahl and label Pashma are the debutants at this WIFW. The designer Rohit Bal is this year’s grand finale designer, and he would present a tribute to the ‘Golden Peacock’ and revisiting his 19-year-old journey in fashion design. Designer Nida Mahmood will showcase her Bollywood-inspired collection on this fashion event. The famous German luxury car manufacturer, ‘Audi’ is the partner of this fashion event.

“Wills India Fashion Week” (WIFW) is the India’s biggest fashion show event, which is annually held in New Delhi. It is the successful event that brings the best fashion designers from various countries, and they display their latest collections in runway shows and buyers can look at these new collections. From this event, we can understand what is the latest fashion and what is out of fashion for the season. It really provides a platform for new talents to showcase their ability and all fashion designers are tried their best to attract audience attention by displaying their latest designs, color shades and clothing construction. It is the only fashion event in India, which takes Indian fashion industry to the global stage.

JOHNNY DEPP

An American actor and musician Johnny Depp has been voted as the sexiest movie star of all time. The star beats Robert Pattinson and Robert Downey Jr, who were on a second and third place respectively in the list released by Empire magazine, a top British film Magazine. Brad Pitt and Christian Bale came in the fourth and fifth position respectively. Johnny is famous through the characters such as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Raoul Duke in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Sam in Benny & Joon. He collaborated with his close friend and director Tim Burton in seven films includes ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ (2007). He is nominated for the academy awards for the best actor in three times. He proved himself through various roles such as a screenwriter, producer, musician etc

BIOGRAPHY

The famous Bollywood actor Johnny Depp was born on June 9,1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, U.S. He is the son of Betty Sue Palmer, a waitress, and John Christopher Depp, Sr., a civil engineer. He has one brother, Danny, and two sisters, Christie and Debbie. He has German, Cherokee, and Irish ancestry. In 1978,his parents divorced. He engaged in self-harm as a child, due to the stress of dealing with family problems and his own insecurity. On December 24, 1983, Depp married Lori Anne Allison, a makeup artist and sister of his band’s bass player and singer. In 1985, Depp and Allison divorced. After his marriage ended, Depp dated and was engaged to Sherilyn Fenn. He has 13 tattoos, many of them signifying important persons or events in his life. It includes a Native American in profile and a ribbon reading “Wino Forever” on his right biceps, “Lily-Rose”  over his heart etc. In 1987, he starred in the Fox TV television series “21 jump street”. He accepted this role to work with Frederic Forrest, who inspired him. The success of this series made him more popular. He acted in many films. His major role was in the horror film “A Nightmare on Elm Street” as a boyfriend to the heroine. He then left his teen idol image in 1990, playing the quirky title role in the Tim Burton film, Edward Scissor hands. His film characters have been described by the press as ‘iconic loners’. He has noted that this period of his career was full of “studio defined failures” and films that were box office poison. His status as a major star was solidified with the success of the 2003 Walt Disney Pictures film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’for which his lead performance as the pirate Captain Jack Sparrow capture big attention. He was nominated for the Academy award for this role. In 2004, he was again nominated for a Best Actor Oscar, this time for playing Scottish author J. M. Barrie in the film ‘Finding Neverland’. He played the title role of Sweeney Todd in Tim Burton’s film adaptation of the musical ‘Sweeney Todd’, for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. As a guitar player,he has recorded a solo album, played slide guitar on the Oasis song “Fade In-Out”.

Johnny Depp wins several awards through his career.Some of them include honors from the London Critics Circle (1996), Russian Guild of Film Critics (1998), Screen Actors Guild Awards (2004), and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. At the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, he won the award for “Best Villain” for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd and “Best Comedic Performance” for Jack Sparrow. Also he has been nominated for three Academy Awards, in 2004 for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in 2005 for Finding Neverland, and most recently in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Depp won his first Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in 2008.
