ASHOK CHAVAN

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan gained an advanced birthday gift from Congress party. His birthday will be on 28th October and the Congress party leadership offered him the gift of powerful post of the chief minister of Maharashtra for a second time. He was sworn as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the first time in 8th December 2008, after Vilasrao Deshmukh was resigned due to the Mumbai terror attacks. This Chief minister ship is the reward for his good performance during his short term as Chief minister of the state. Chavan was elected from the ‘Bhokar’ constituency in this assembly election.

BIOGRAPHY

Ashok Chavan was born on 28th October, 1958 in Mumbai. He belongs to a political family, and he is the son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Shankarrao Chavan. He is a post graduate in Business Management. Following his father’s footsteps, he started his political career as General Secretary of ‘Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee’. In 1987, he was elected as a member of parliament, and he was elected as a member of the ‘Maharashtra Legislative Council’ in 1992. After that, he served as a junior minister of several portfolios . In 2003, he became a cabinet minister and handled several portfolios including sports, transport, industries and cultural affairs. He was also selected as a cabinet minister for Industries, Mining, Cultural Affairs & Protocol in 2004. On 8th December, 2008, he was sworn as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra after Vilasrao Deshmukh was resigned due to the Mumbai terror attacks. Chavan made many developments in the state in his short term as a chief minister. Now, he was again selected as the Chief minister of Maharashtra and this was the reward for his good performance as a Chief minister of the state. He is married to Ameeta and they have two daughters.

NAPOLEON

Napoleon is all time great actor and made a long history in Kollywood film industry. He proved his talent in politics also, because now, he is the minister of state in the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in Manmohan Singh’s Cabinet. He won to the Lok Sabha from the Perambalur constituency on a DMK ticket. The actor was first elected to the assembly from Villivakkam constituency in 2001 and was also the chairman of the Jeevan Group of Company.

Napoleon was born in Peruvalanalloor,Trichirappalli in 1963 as the son of an agriculturist Duraisamy and Saraswathi. He has three sisters and two brothers. He did his graduation in B.A.History from “St. Joseph’s College”, Trichi. He is an actor, politician and business man by profession. His born name was ‘Kumaresan’ and his screen name was ‘Napoleon’. He was married to Jayasudha. His cinema carrer had started with the movie of “Pudhu Nellu Puddhu Nathu” in 1991. As an actor, he has worked in more than 85 films and is proficient in all South Indian languages including Tamil,Telugu and Malayalam. Some of his notable films include “Seevalaperi Pandi”, “Vattaram”, ” Saleem”, “Pallikondapuram”, “Azhagarmalai”, “Devasuram” and “Ravanaprabhu”. He was honoured with ‘Kalaimamani Award’ in 1998 and also received the ‘M.G.R. Award’ in the same year. He was conferred with the ‘Best Actor Award’ by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the film ‘Ettu Patti Rasa’. Napolean was learning the politics from his uncle State Transport Minister K.N. Nehru and was first contested to the assembly from Villivakkam constituency and was elected as MLA in 2001. He was continued his service as MLA until 2006. He was lost his MLA seat in 2006 at Mylapore to fellow colleague and actor S V Shekher, of AIADMK. As a Politician, he was responsible for managing the party’s propaganda, organizing political rallies and planning and administrating campaigns and was also won the Murasoli Trust “Kalaignar” Award in the year 2007. Napolean’s another popularize is the owner of the “Jeevan Technologies”. Jeevan Technology is an efficient IT Solutions Strategy that has evolved as a strategic development partner to some of the leading independent software vendors in the world.
