Right-handed batsman Virat Kohli is the new hero of the Indian cricket. With the help of his century, India gained a victory over Bangladesh in ongoing tri-series. Kohli gained unbeaten 102 runs from just 95 balls, and it was his second ODI century in his cricket career. He scored two fifties in the previous two matches of this tri-series. Kohli is a powerful middle order batsman, and he is best known for his shots through the cover region. In addition, he is also a right arm medium pace bowler of the Indian cricket team.

BIOGRAPHY

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was born on 5th November, 1988 in Bangalore, India as the son of P.N.Kohli. He learned cricket lessons from ‘West Delhi Cricket Academy’. He is come to know in the cricket world, when he gained 90 runs within hours of his father’s death to save Delhi from certain follow-on in a Ranji Trophy game against Karnataka. In addition, he was the captain of the victorious Indian team at the ‘2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup’ held in Malaysia. In that ‘Under-19 World Cup’, he gained 235 runs including a century from 74 balls against West Indies, and he was the third best run scorer in that tournament. In ‘2008 Emerging Players Tournament’ in Australia, Kohli was the leading run scorer with 398 runs from seven matches including two centuries and two fifties. After this performance, he was selected in the ODI squad for India’s tour of Sri Lanka and his first ODI match was against Sri Lanka in the ‘Idea Cup’ in 2008. With the help of his performances, India won their first one day series win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. In 2009, Kohli gained his debut ODI century against Sri Lanka in ODI series in Sri Lanka. In ‘2010 Idea Cup’ tri-series, Kohli gained 91 runs against Bangladesh, unbeaten 71 runs against Sri Lanka and his second ODI century against Bangladesh. With this brilliant century, he became the third Indian, who scored two ODI centuries before the age of 22. He is also the player of ‘Royal Challengers Bangalore’ Indian Premier League team. He played for this team in 2008 and 2009 IPL seasons. The 2008 IPL season was not good for him. He gained only 165 runs in that season, but in the 2009 season, he was improved his performance by gaining 215 runs.

SACHIN TENDULKAR’S TWENTY YEARS IN CRICKET

‘God of cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar completed 20 years in international cricket on Sunday. He is the first Indian and 16th cricketer in the cricket history whose career is spanning more than two decades. Tendulkar started his career at the age of 16 against Pakistan in 15th November, 1989. In his two decades long career, he represented India in 159 test matches and 436 ODI matches. He is always the companion of records. He is the highest run-getter and century maker in both the Tests and ODIs. He bagged 12773 runs from 159 Tests with 42 centuries and 53 half centuries. This cricket mastero recently achieved another milestone that he became the only batsman in the history of the cricket to gain 17000 runs. In ODI, he gained 17173 runs from 436 matches with the collection of 45 centuries and 91 half centuries. He also showed his talent in his part time bowling. He gained 44 wickets in test and 154 wickets in ODI matches. In addition to the batting and bowling, Tendulkar also held the post of captain of the Indian team. However, he was not successful in that post.  He is only the cricketer to received India’s highest sports award-’Rajiv Ganghi Khel Ratna’ and also won the Padmashree Award in 1999. Till now, he learns the lessons of the cricket and spends hours in the net. His simple attitude and dedication towards the game make him everyone’s favorite hero, not only Indians but all over the world.

SACHIN’S BIOGRAPHY

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973 in Mumbai in India. He is the number one player of India and the master of International Cricket. His father Ramesh Tendulkar is a Marathi novelist. He has two brothers and a sister. He got married to Anjali Mehta, a Gujarati doctor. They have two children Sarah and Arjun. He started his cricket career from his coach Ramakant Achrekar at the age of 15. While at school, he was involved in a great partnership of 664 runs in a Harris Shield game with his childhood friend and team mate Vinod Kambli. In 1988-1989 period, he scored 100 not-out in his first first-class match for Bombay against Gujarat. He is all-rounder in ODI and TEST matches. Sachin played his first International match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989. He scored his first ODI century against Australia in Sri-Lanka at Colombo in 1994. In the same year, he scored 179 against the West Indies. In August 1996, he was made captain of his country’s team. He played his first world cup match and had done well in Cricket World Cups. He was the leading run scorer at the 1996 Cricket World Cup, and he made 673 runs in 11 matches in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Sachin was also elected Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1997 and was ranked by the objective scoring method of the Wisden 100 as the second best test batsman and best ODI batsman of all time. Tendulkar made history in December 2005 when he scored his record-breaking 35th century in Test play against Sri Lanka. He is the first player to score 10,000 runs in One-day internationals, and he has scored most centuries in Test and One day matches.He got several highly regarded batting records and is the leading scorer of centuries in both Test cricket and One-day internationals. He has to hold the record of the highest number of centuries in both Test and ODI cricket ie 41 in 43 respectively. Sachin Tendulakar has won the ‘Man of the Match’ award 8 times in World Cup, he is only the cricketer to received India’s highest sports award-’Rajiv Ganghi Khel Ratna’ and also won the Padmashree Award in 1999. Tendulkar is the most commercial sponsored player in World Cricket and had done many advertisements for many products. He is the only player who is still playing in international cricket from the 1980s. Right now he is the senior cricket player and fully experienced player in India.
