BIOGRAPHY

Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September, 1967 in a middle class family in Jalandhar in Punjab, India as the son of a government worker. His original name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. He gained school education from Don ‘Bosco School’ and his college years were in ‘Khalsa College’. He also studied martial arts in Bangkok while working as a chef. Then he came back to Delhi and he tried his luck in modeling. Modelling give him a chance to act in the movies. He started his acting career with the movie “Saugandh” in 1991. After that, he never looked back and went on give numerous hits. He became popular with the super hit action film “Khiladi” in 1992 and after that, he appeared in many ‘Khiladi’ series movie like “Main Khiladi Tu Anari”, “Sabse Bada Khiladi”, “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi”, “Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi”, “International Khiladi” and “Khiladi 420″. The year 1994 proved to be a good year for Kumar, because his action films like ” Main Khiladi Tu Anari” and “Mohra” were the highest grossing films of that year. He also showed his versatility in acting by playing romantic characters in movies like “Yeh Dillagi” and “Dhadkan”. He also done comedy in the films like “Hera Pheri” and “Garam Masala” which received all round applause from the public. In the film “Ajnabee” he appeared in villainous Role and he won ‘Filmfare Award’ for ‘Best Performance in a Villainous Role” in 2001. His other notable films are “Aankhen”, “Awara Paagal Deewana”, “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”, “Garam Masala”, “Ek Rishtaa”, “Namastey London”, “Welcome”, “Kambakkht Ishq”, “Blue”, “Singh Is Kinng”, “De Dana Dan”, etc. His upcoming movies are “Housefull”, “Helloo India”, “Action Replay”, “Khatta Meeta” and “Patiala House”. Akshay Kumar is also appeared as the host of TV reality show “Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khilad”. He is married to Twinkle Khanna, the daughter of the famous Bollywood actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia and they have a son Aarav.

Akshay Kumar gained many awards in his acting career. Indian Government honored him by giving ‘Padma Shri’ in 2009 and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Award ‘ in 2004. ‘University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada’ honored him by giving ‘Honorary Doctorate of Law’ to him. He was awarded the highest Japanese honour of “Katana” and a sixth degree Black Belt in Kuyukai Gojuryu Karate. He is one among the 15 international celebrities who have been invited for the Olympics torchbearer rally to Canada. He is the winner of ‘Filmfare Best Villain Award’ for the film “Ajnabee”,’Filmfare Best Comedian Award’ for the film “Garam Masala”. Famous Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock gained an extraordinary achievement in her acting career. She gained ‘Best Actress Oscar’ and ‘Worst Actress Razzie’ awards in the same year. Sandra Annette Bullock was born on 26th July, 1964 in Arlington, Virginia, U.S as the daughter of a German opera singer and voice teacher Helga D. Meyer and John W. Bullock. In childhood, she studied ballet and vocal arts and appeared in her mother’s opera productions. In her school days in ‘Washington-Lee High School’, she participated in high school theater productions. She later enrolled in ‘E. Carolina University’ in North Carolina, where she studied acting. She discontinued her graduation in the University and moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. After that, she acted in many television programs and feature films including “Working Girl “, “Love Potion No. 9″, “The Thing Called Love”, “Fire on the Amazon”, “Demolition Man”, “Wrestling Ernest Hemingway”. She got a break through the performance of the super hit film “Speed” in 1994. This film’s success made her one of Hollywood’s most talked about actresses. Her other notable films are “While You Were Sleeping”, “Forces of Nature”, “Miss Congeniality”, “Two Weeks Notice”, “Lake House”, “Infamous”, “Premonition”, “The Proposal”, “All About Steve” and “The Blind Side”. The films  “The Proposal” and “The Blind Side” were the super hit films of 2009. She won the award for Best Actress at the ‘Golden Globes’, ‘Academy Awards’, and the ‘Screen Actors Guild Award’ for her performance in “The Blind Side”. She is also a supporter of the ‘American Red Cross’ and she donated $1 million after the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 and $1 million after the tsunami devastation of December 2004 to the American Red Cross society. Sandra Bullock earlier dated to actor Tate Donovan, football player Troy Aikman, Austin musician Bob Schneider and actors Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Gosling. Now she is married to motorcycle builder and ‘Monster Garage’ TV show host Jesse James.
