NIRMAL PANDEY

Actor Nirmal Pandey, who is famous for negative roles in films and television passed away on yesterday following a heart attack. He  was not keeping well for some time and he breathed his last at Holy Spirit hospital in Mumbai. He is famous for his roles in the films like “Bandit Queen” and “God Mother”.

BIOGRAPHY

Nirmal Pandey was born on 1966 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He gained his school education from Almora, Nainital and Uttarakhand. In addition, he is also a graduate from the National School of Drama. After the graduation, he moved to London and worked with a theatre group titled ‘Tara’. He acted in more than 100 plays and his famous plays are ‘Heer Ranjha’, ‘Anitigone’. Then he turned his interest in acting films. He got a break in the film industry through his role of Vikram Mallah in Shekhar Kapur’s well acclaimed film “Bandit Queen” in 1994. In addition, he also received good reviews for the fims like “Daayraa”, “God Mother”, “Train To Pakistan”, “Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi” and “Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain”. In the film “Daayraa”, he played the role of transvestite and he holds an extremely unique record for winning Valenti award for the ‘Best actress’ category for the portrayal of transvestite. His other films are “Deshdrohi”, “Aaja Nachle”, “Laila”, “Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain”, “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” etc. His last released film was a Telugu film “Kedi” and his latest film “Lahore” is yet to release.  In addition to the films, he had acted in several television serials including ‘Hatim’ and ‘Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag’. He was not just a good actor but also an excellent singer. He showed his talent as a singer and had released an album called ‘Jazba”. He is the owner of a theatre group “Sanvedna” and an acting institute “Fresh Talent Academy”. He also directed a Hindi play titled “Andhayug” and also conducts theatre workshops. Nirmal Pandey is married to Archana and they have two children.

Bollywood’s junior Bachchan, Abhishek is celebrating his 34th Birthday today. He is in shooting location for his film “Crooked” in Mumbai on this birthday. Abhishek Bachchan is one of the most popular actors of India.

BIOGRAPHY

Abhishek Amitabh Srivastav was born on 5th Feb 1976 in Mumbai as the son of popular actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. He is also the grandson of famous Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He gained his school education from ‘Jamnabai Narsee School’, ‘Bombay Scottish School’ in Mumbai and ‘Modern School’ in New Delhi. He got his graduation from ‘Aiglon College’ in Switzerland. After that, he moved to ‘Boston University’ in U.S to study business, but he  return back to India to help his father’s company, ABCL which was hit by a financial crisis. He started his film career with the film “Refugee” opposite Kareena Kapoor in 2000. This film was not successful. After that, he appeared in many films including “Dhai Akshar Prem Ke”, “Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya”, “Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai”, “Om Jai Jagdish” and “Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon”. But these films were flopped in the box office. In 2004, he got a break through Mani Ratnam’s movie “Yuva”. He gained ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Award’ for the performance of this film. In the same year, he appeared in another hit film “Dhoom”. The year 2005 was good for him. In that year, he acted in many hit films like “Bunty Aur Babli”,” Sarkar”, “Dus” and “Bluffmaster”. Abhishek’s role of Shankar Nagre in the film “Sarkar” won him the ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award’. His another super hit film “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” was one of India’s highest grossing films of the year 2006. His other super hit movies are “Dhoom 2″, “Guru”, “Sarkar Raj” and “Dostana”. His upcoming film are “Crooked”, “Raavan”, “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey” etc. Abhishek Bachchan is also involved in the functional and administrative operations of his father’s company, known as ABCL. Now he turned into a producer with the film “Paa” for the company ABCL. The film “Paa” was super hit film in 2009 in which his father Amitabh Bachchan played the role of his 13 years old son. Abhishek is also the host of the show titled ‘National Bingo Night’ which premiered on ‘Colors’ television. His personal life is amazing. Earlier, he was engaged to the actress Karisma Kapoor, but later that engagement was cancelled. Then he married to the most beautiful woman on earth and famous actress Aishwarya Rai. Now this couple is considered a supercouple in India. In addition to the acting, he appeared in many advertisements. His recent ad with his wife Aishwarya for the Lux soap is really beautiful. He has endorsed brands like Motorola and Idea Cellular.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Abhishek Bachchan had gained many awards and honors in his film career. Uttar Pradesh Government honored by giving the state’s highest award named “Yash Bharati Samman” to him. In addition, he gained many awards including ‘Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award’ for the films “Yuva”, ” Sarkar” and “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna”, ‘IIFA Best Supporting Actor Award’, ‘Star Screen Awards’, ‘Stardust Awards’, ‘Zee Cine Awards’, ‘Bollywood Movie Awards’, ‘Apsara Awards’, ‘Global Indian Film Awards’, ‘Sansui Award’ etc.
